Catrice Strobing Blush Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Catrice Strobing Blush ($6.99) is a new highlighter slash blush that adds a touch of color to cheeks while providing a luminous, strobing effect without the need to add highlighter. So, I should tell you I’m in love with blushes that act as a highlighter as well. Why? Because I don’t really like highlighter! One reason would be because I suck at application. Another would be because I have a fuller face and I feel like I can’t find my cheek bones. I swear, I don’t even think I have cheek bones. If I smile all you get are the apples of my cheeks no arch to add highlighter to. I use the Tyra Banks method of applying my blush. Smile, dab on the apples of my cheeks, and go.

So, yeah highlighter is like a complete no go for me most days of my life. But I don’t feel that way about shimmery blushes or blushes that have a hybrid formula that act like a blush and a highlighter all-in-one. They just seem easier to apply and they give me that luminous glow I love without a ton of no how and I’m cool with that.

That’s where Catrice Strobing Blush comes into play. It’s subtle color and just a touch of sheen not to mention it’s totally budget friendly.

Here’s the deets.

Becca Parisian Lights Looks A Lot Beach Nectar But I Still Want It

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

The new Becca x Sananas Parisian Lights Shimmering Skin Perfector Pressed has arrived and I am in love with it. Created in collaboration with French Blogger, Sananas and youTuber this new shade is inspired by the twinkling lights of the Eiffel Tower and even has a gorgeous embossment of it on the powder.

The color is a duochrome pink with golden pearl which I suspect will have a golden peach shift in a certain light. I have to admit I’m currently torn about wanting this. One side of me says yes, you need it especially since it is limited edition. But somewhere in the back of mind someone is whispering that it looks a lot like Beach Nectar from the Becca X Chrissy Teigen Glow Face Palette.

Ugh what a dilemma! What to do?

Yes to Coconut Coconut Oil Cleansing Balm Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Yes to Coconut Cleansing Balm is a new coconut oil infused cleansing balm created for dry skin to remove makeup, dirt, and oil while leaving skin hydrated and smooth. Yes to Coconut Coconut Oil Cleansing Balm is actually one of two new cleansing balms that the brand released but prior to that they have done a balm-like cleanser that I didn’t really loved called Ultra Hydrating Melting Cleanser. I know many people really loved that formula but I wasn’t terribly into it.

I did have some reservations about the cleansing balm as well prior to purchasing it as I was concerned it wouldn’t be eye safe (as many Yes To products come with a warning to not use them near eyes) and also, I was worried about the formula which I was concerned wouldn’t break down and emulsify. Cleansing balms were created to start out life as a balm but breakdown into an oil as you massaged them on and completely emulsify and turn milky once water was applied while rinsing clean away. Sadly, there have been formulas I’ve tried that didn’t quite do this like Nooni Snowflake Cleanser Makeup Remover Cleansing Balm, NYX Cleansing Balm, and Equate Wipe the Day Away Cleansing Balm just to name a few. I came to this conclusion simply because Yes To includes a sponge to remove the balm. Why would we need a sponge of the formula emulsifies? Would it be formulated more along the lines of products like Trilogy Make-Up Be Gone Cleansing Balm or Lush Ultrabland where you have to apply it and wipe it off with a wet sponge or cloth? This isn’t a bad thing by any means but I do find emulsifying balms are easier to use.

Another concern I had was coconut oil which I seem to be allergic to in certain formulas. There have been times I used coconut oil skincare without an issue and other times it’s made me itchy beyond belief. So, this was also a major concern of mine.

Let’s see how things went down.
