A new season means a new Give Me Some New Lip Kit from Sephora! This year the Sephora Favorites Give Me Some New Lip Kit gets a packaging revamp with the contents arriving your way in a very cute little cardboard takeaway box. Granted, I’m pretty partial to the reusable sturdy lip-shaped cardboard that the set typically comes in but I do so love cute packaging and this is terribly appealing!

Not only has the packaging been revamped but I’m happy to report a lot of newer brands appear in this set like Fenty Beauty and Huda Beauty as well as brand new products such as the recently released Smashbox Always On Metallic Matte Lip Color.

Urban Decay Drop Shot Mix-In Facial Oil and NYX Hydra Touch Oil Primer are two new primer facial oils that take on Smashbox Photo Finish Oil that launched last year.

I think the idea of an oil you can use to prep your skin prior to makeup is an interesting one and perhaps to some it might even be exciting but a pig is a pig even when it’s wearing red lipstick right? I mean, what’s so difference from a primer oil versus a facial oil? Likely, not a lot. Another words, if you already own and use a particular facial oil already such as argan, camellia, maracuja, or the dozen of other oils out there nothing is really stopping you from using it to prep your face with in the morning. Other than the fact you might want to use a little less than you would in the evening.

Do you need to purchase a seperate facial oil that acts as a primer as well? Probably not.

“But wait, you said you had dry skin why do you hate priming oil?”
