The new St. Ives Cleansing Stick ($7.99) will be launching shortly at drugstores and I’m always on the hunt to find them. There’s a hydrating stick formula that contains cactus water and hibiscus, an apricot and manuka honey one which exfoliates and smooths, and a matcha green tea and ginger formula which acts to detox.

Last year, St. Ives introduced their facial oil scrub and I quite liked it so, I expect good things from the new cleansing sticks. Although, I suspect they’ll be loaded with fragrance and other irritants. Le sigh!

I imagine the cleansing stick and skincare stick trend is going to be huge this year at drugstores. It’s already a fad that has long since died out in the higher and mid-range brand world but drugstores are just starting to pick up on it. Yes to Coconut Energizing Coffee 2-in-1 Scrub & Cleanser Stick, Physicians Formula Charcoal Detox Cleansing Stick, and Physicians Formula Refreshmint Cooling Stick are just three of the latest and newest skincare sticks to launch at drugstores but I suspect we’ll see many others as we head deeper into the Spring 2018 season.

It’s become more clear than every before that Macy’s, Sephora, Nordstrom, and many other retailers are in direct competition with each other. This Holiday season the sales on makeup and beauty were plentiful and maybe even a little bit overwhelming as well. But none the less if it was a sale you were seeking, it was a sale you got with savings up to 60% off major brands like MAC, Urban Decay, Too Faced, and more…!

A few short weeks ago Sephora introduced a new promotion called Weekly Wows which brought together several products each week and marked them down 50% off retail prices. The very interesting thing about this promotion would be the fact you had a choice where to buy the items on sale because every single retailer across the board had the same exact item on sale. If Sephora put the Urban Decay Naked Palette on sale for 50% off you could find it for the exact same price at Ulta, Macy’s, Sephora, and Nordstrom. This made the Sephora’s Weekly Wows a very uneventful sale point.

But I digress, this post isn’t about sales so much but about the fact that Macy’s, Sephora, and Nordstrom have something that QVC and Ulta do not and how they need to do one single simple thing to catch up to these other beauty retailers.

Do you have a skincare resolution in place for Spring 2018 or am I the only beauty addict that’s all, “OMG we’re headed into a new year I need NEW SKINCARE!” I always feel like as I head into a new year that it feels like a good idea to revamp my skincare routine. I’m a year older after all and maybe my skin needs something better to keep it looking young not to mention the long, hard days of Winter almost immediately follow January 1st. I know, I know I’m totally making excuses to add to my stash of skincare but there good excuses wouldn’t you agree?

I think we’re finally out of the water when it comes to sales. Yes, today is boxing day! Yes, there are lots of sales going on but guess what? I’m sort of over it and I hope by tomorrow that the deals will be done and I can get down to posting about brand new, fabulous makeup.

Speaking of brand new makeup Tarte has been busy releasing new items for Spring 2018 without many of us even realizing it. Stealthy guys, very stealthy but not stealthy enough as I noticed all the delicious newness!
