Sephora Weekly Wows Might Be Worth a Look At This Week!

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Tarte Color Splash Hydrating Lipstick

So, you didn’t haul the Subculture Eyeshadow Palette when it originally launched because they drama was strong with that release wasn’t it? I actually ended up not having that many negative thoughts about it. It really wasn’t as bad as I had heard it was and I felt somewhat thankful for that after purchasing it a few months ago. None the less, I would have been even happier if it was $33 at the time versus $42!

If you want it, it’s available today on sale at Sephora.com! Now is your chance to decide for yourself if it is a nay or a yay.

Also, available, which I recommend, are Tarte’s Color Splash Lipsticks for $15.75 each. These are super creamy, pigment AF, and long wearing! Definitely worth exploring!

Happy Hauling!

I’ll Take You to the Bath & Body Works Sweet Shoppe and Buy Candles With You!

It’s been about two or three seasons since Bath & Body Works launched their Sweet Shoppe Candles and I’m happy to report they are back for the Spring 2018 season. I actually missed most of these on the original launch.

What?! How? Who! You did!? Yes, I did. I was waiting on a good sale and I felt like, “Meh these will be around for a while! I can wait for a good sale to buy them.” and somehow time got away with me and they disappeared before I could get my hands on them.

Oh woe is me. I do so regret not getting them as the constant ravings about Lavender Marshmallow haunt me to this very day.

Now I can get them all and they are on sale too. I suspect, don’t quote me, that the Sweet Shoppe return is simply happening during the semi-annual sale. Why? Because these have been on sale since they popped back up on the Bath & Body Works website and there are in fact a few new Spring 2018 candles but those are full-size. That sucks because I do so miss the days of old when Bath & Body Works did cute collections. I wouldn’t mind if Bath & Body Works changed into a A l’Etoile d’Or for Spring 2018 and launched an entire range of delicious candy scents (and pastry ones too)! P.S. If you’ve never been to A l’Etoile d’Or please make sure you visit on your next trip to France!

Bath & Body Works has been remiss lately. First the dismal Fall Collection, than the fact Twisted Peppermint Fragrance Mist wasn’t available, and now a return of Sweet Shoppe simply for the semi-annual sale. Come on guys, you can do better.

But I’ll take what I can get and I’ll haul all of these yummy scents (actually, I already did!) but please, give us more of the things we love in the future. I don’t want to be taken to Hawaii this Spring! Take me to a fine pastry or a decadent chocolate and candy shop.

Stila Fairy Tale Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Stila Fairy Tale Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow ($24) is one of three new shades of this popular cream shimmer eyeshadow that launched for Spring 2018. Why yes, I do have a slightly bad case of pokemon disease when it comes to these eyeshadows. They have turned into a very fast favorite formula for me and I’m always quite excited when they launch new shades.

Although, I must admit Stila confuses me with all the name changing and introduction of new formulas and finishes. Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow started out life as Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow but somewhere along the line they dropped the Magnificent Metals part of the name. Fast forward to Holiday 2017 and they introduced Shimmer & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow in the Stila Eye For Elegance Liquid Eye Shadow Set and now have an entirely separate range of shades in that formula.

Fast forward to last week and we have yet another round of shades. Ok, cool! Love that! However, the new shades are marketed as having a metallic finish and the old ones are now considered a glitter finish. WTF though? I’m thoroughly confused now thanks so much. Weren’t the originally marketed as metallics anyway!?!?

Anyway, sorry, I don’t mean to rant but this hit a little bit of a sore spot for me as I find the names, formulas, and finishes can be a little confusing. I think we can all agree that their marketing on this line is a little daft.

None the less Fairy Tale Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow with a metallic finish ended up in my stash and here’s what went down.

Parents Beware Claire’s Makeup Tested Positive for Asbestos

beauty news

I was threading my brows last week prior to Christmas and Akari, the girl that typically does my brows asked me if I had children. I said no but I have a little baby dog to which she laughed and I replied back, do you? And she told me yes, she has one little girl who is seven years old. And we got to talking as she worked on my brows and she explained how her seven year old likes to watch youTube videos about makeup and how she asked for makeup for Christmas.

Weirdly enough as a very liberal person I thought this shocking. I have such a contrasting personality sometimes because I’m very liberal about certain topics where as others I’m more of a traditional conservative and on the topic of makeup I guess I am a little conservative as the idea of a seven year old watching youTube gurus and wanting makeup felt rushed to me. Shouldn’t she be asking for Barbie’s Dreamhouse? I guess not considering we live in an entirely different society than the one I grew up in. I’m NOT THAT old but but today’s youth is far more advanced and much more mature than I ever was. Even at 12 the thought of boys and makeup was just a little speck on my radar as I was still very much a child still. Maybe I was a late bloomer.
