I Have My Doubts Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream Will Cure Puffiness

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream ($65) is a new eye cream the brand just recently launched which promises to decrease puffiness and erase those pesky dark circles you might be experiencing.

Sounds like a dream come true right? But is it?

If you’re younger, a gamer, have allergies, cry a lot (I sure hope not!), or have your head buried in your pillow every night, you’ve probably experienced some sort of puffiness. Puffy eyes are fairly common if you’re starting at a computer screen, tablet, or phone for long periods of time or you’re indulging in one too many rounds of Five Nights at Freddy’s. I’m actually pretty prone to puffiness if I’m doing a game sesh and staying up long hours doing it because I tend to stare at the screen without blinking and I’m likely drinking some caffeinated beverage while doing it because I’m under the illusion I’m still twenty, can stay up all night while still functioning for work without any problem that same day. Nowadays my body seems to be demanding that I get at least eight hours of sleep to function on a human level. When did I get old!?

But even on days I’m not gaming I’ve always been pretty prone to puffy eyes especially in the morning just after getting up. Several years ago, I started noticing it more and more and that’s when I started buying any and all eye creams that promised to depuff my eyes. Believe me, no matter how much money you spend on eye cream it’s highly unlikely the formula they are marketing to you will address puffiness and dark circles. If you’re younger you have a better chance that an eye cream that promises to reduce puffiness will work for you because it’s likely because your puffiness is due to lack of sleep or seasonal allergies perhaps.

But those of us who are older are likely experiencing puffiness due to age and this is not treatable with eye creams in my experience. If you really want to rid yourself of puffiness get a really good concealer and call it a day. Other people might also be experiencing puffiness they inherited from their parents. Yes, it’s true! If your dad and mommy have puffy eyes you’ll likely have them too!

So, I have my doubts Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream will cure puffiness. Do I hope that it will? Yes. But do I think it will? I’m going to lean towards saying no.

Sunday Riley Auto Correct Brightening and Depuffing Eye Contour Cream is available now at sephora.com. If you try it and find it works do share your results as I’d be highly curious how powerful it is at decreasing puffiness.

What do you think?

Think it’ll work?

Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette II Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette Volume II or Tarte Clay Play Volume II Eye & Cheek Palette ($46) is an odd follow up the Clay Play Face Shaping Palette that released last May. I said odd because the original palette was created as a contouring tool for face and eyes where as Volume II isn’t really like that at all. In its defense though I would like to mention it has two different names. As Sephora lists is as Clay Play Face Shaping Palette II but the box reads Clay Play Volume II Eye & Cheek Palette. Not there is nothing about face shaping in Tarte’s own title so I suspect they haven’t created this as a multitasking contouring and eyeshadow palette at all. In reality, you wouldn’t be able to use any of the shimmer shades to contour with anyway.

But yeah, it’s a little confusing how they did a follow up palette that has a completely different idea compared to the original. The idea of creating a follow up is to bring back more of what users liked about the original. This palette actually keeps the same packaging as the original, almost the same name, but it gives you shimmers instead of mattes. It could easily be argued that anyone who hated the mattes in the original will love the new version which brings a lot more shimmer. This is basically the idea I guess as even the shade names are the same which isn’t a new thing as many brands have done a matte palette and followed up with a shimmer one with the same shades, Kat Von D Shade + Light Glimmer Eye Contour Palette comes to mind. But again, the original was created with all mattes because they intended for you to multitask with the shades and use them for both shading eyes and contouring your face. Not that I ever did this but I feel like Volume II lacks that multitasking benefit should you have wanted it.

Anyway, here’s the deets, review, and swatches on the Tarte Clay Play Face Shaping Palette II.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Neutrogena Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser ($7.99) is a new exfoliating face wash that formulated with hyaluronic acid which acts to cleanse, exfoliate, hydrate, and seal in moisture. I was actually tempted to say that this was “infused” with hyaluronic acid because it, like many of the Neutrogena Hydro Boost Skincare products, contains a very, very small amount of hyaluronic acid. Not nearly enough to make any real difference in your skin which proves disappointing but like many brands they latched onto a very popular skincare trend and ran with it.

Oddly enough, I was pretty impressed Neutrogena Hydro Boost Makeup such as the concealer and tint but wasn’t really in love with the skincare part of the collection. Neutrogena Hydrating Cleansing Gel was one of the items I checked out last year and I felt like it made my skin pretty tight after using it so, I expected more of the same from the Hydro Boost Exfoliating Cleanser and that’s exactly what I got. This really didn’t agree with my drier skin at all. I also didn’t love the texture and consistency.

Let’s check it out.
