Lipstick Queen Dating Game Lipstick and Doctor Who Babblings

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Lipstick Queen Dating Game Lipstick make me think of Valentine’s Day and I guess technically that’s ok considering the Christmas decorations and candies have already been removed from my local Walgreens and in their place, yes, you guessed it, are chocolate hearts. Rush? Just a little.

As we head into a new season we can always rely on Lipstick Queen to gift us with some new, interesting lipstick launch. This year, we get four gorgeous shades of pink lipstick with a formula that contains nourishing shea butter. Each full-coverage lipstick has a creamy texture with a silk formula and a pop of pink pigment for your pout.

Shades include:

  • Bad Boy
  • Good Catch
  • Mr Right
  • Mr Right Now

Lipstick Queen Dating Game Lipstick is available now for $24 with free shipping at nordstrom.com and ulta.com.

P.S. I watched the Doctor Who Christmas Special last night and it was rather wild ride. I was so, so busy Christmas and the days after it that I didn’t have a chance to sit down to watch but I finally had a second to sit on the couch and take it all in last night. I’m thrilled with the nod to our very dearly beloved Brigadier. Not that the Brigadier has been completely absent in recent years but just that tiny nod to his legacy was a lovely thing to see. One of my favorite episodes featuring Nicholas Courtney and Tom Baker was Planet of the Spiders. Yes, I’m a complete arachnophobe but this was the introduction of my Doctor so it does stick out in my head. But man there were enough fake spiders in that episode to give me nightmares for weeks and weeks after watching it. It’s especially important to remember that the Brigadier was there during the regeneration from three to four with Sarah Jane and he says those legendary lines, “Well… Here we go again.” Indeed, and here we are again in 2017 nearly 2018 with yet another Doctor on the way. One that breaks all sorts of boundaries since he has actually regenerated into a she. Yay girl power. A few short years ago, there was a rumor that Jennifer Saunders might be the next Doctor Who and the fandom was quite in a frenzy at the idea of a woman in the Tardis. It never did go down that way but this year, well this year is obviously the year Doctor Who makes history.

I keep seeing click bait titles about how wonderful 13 is and how incredible she was in this episode but I haven’t formed an opinion yet. She was on the screen about 28 seconds and I’m disappointed to some extent that her intro was not terribly original at all and just reminiscent of 11’s introduction to the Who-verse. Cloister bell tolls, regeneration occurs, Tardis blows up, Doctor is thrown into chaos. Pretty much the same intro as 11 aside from the fact she literally falls out of the Tardis where as Matt hung in there as it crashed down to earth. I get the need to blow up the Tardis as they want to start fresh, give it a new look for a new Doctor yada yada yada, but there must be someway they can incorporate a new look without having the same exact storyline as 11.

I have to admit I’m happy to see Peter go. People have hailed him as being a fantastic Doctor but I felt like from the get go he’s always been such a grumpy, angry Doctor. A little playfulness never hurt anyone. Bill was a strong companion and she made last season very, very good but the Peter just wasn’t my cup of tea at all.

I’m looking forward to see what Jodie brings to the role. I hope 13 will bring back some lightheartedness to the series!

What did you think of the episode?

Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Moisturizing Coconut Oil Stick Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Moisturizing Coconut Oil Stick ($9.99) is a new multitasking moisturizing stick that can be applied anywhere you require a little more hydration. We’ve seen moisturizing sticks a plenty in the past and I’ve reviewed quite a few right here on Musings of a Muse like the Milk Makeup Cooling Water Stick, E.L.F. Studio Daily Moisture Stick, and Milk Makeup Hydrating Oil Stick and even coconut ones too like the Hard Candy Sheer Envy Coconut Primer Stick.

Stick skincare everything is a fad that was going around quite a bit last year and the year before and is still quite popular in Korea. This is starting to trickle down to the drugstore right now with a multitude of brands trying to top each other in creating that perfect multitasking skincare stick. So far, we’ve seen not one but two different ones from Physician Formula as well as a two from Yes To with plenty more on the way I’m sure.

Yes to Coconut Ultra Hydrating Moisturizing Coconut Oil Stick was on my radar almost immediately after it launched. I’m an odd sort because I tend to take super, extra good care of the skin on my face and neck but I’m not as diligent with my body. I don’t really love how body creams feel plus they are so messy to use. This is why I love moisturizing mists but sticks? That’s even more convenient.

Maybelline Total Temptation Shadow + Highlight Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Maybelline Total Temptation Shadow + Highlight Palette ($9.99) is a new 10 pan eyeshadow and highlighter palette that launched with the Maybelline Spring 2018 Collection earlier this Holiday season.

This was an appealing palette to me since it not only contained a very nice selection of peachy brown neutrals. But also, as many of you know I’m a fan of Japanese eyeshadows which tend to have a slurry formula that has a creamy powdery texture which are very, very easy to apply. I love that hybrid consistency of a cream and a powder as it gives the powder such a soft, silky texture. I thought perhaps the Maybelline Total Temptation Shadow + Highlight Palette would have a formula like this which is why I decided to buy it.

Olay Cleansing Infusion Facial Cleanser with Deep Sea Kelp Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Olay Cleansing Infusion Facial Cleanser with Deep Sea Kelp ($6.99) is a one of two new cleansers the brand released for Spring 2018. This particular formula is a hydrating formula that acts to cleanse skin and also contains biorenewing hydrators that improve the skin’s surface and texture as you wash. The formula acts like the natural lipids found in your skin to smooth and soften it.

Sounds pretty cool right? It’s actually not an exfoliating cleanser even though it sounds like one! I actually think it would make an excellent addition to a double-cleanse routine if you embrace a Korean skincare lifestyle.

It does have one problem that could be a major issue or a minor one.

Garnier SkinActive Hydrating 3-in-1 Face Moisturizer with Aloe Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Garnier SkinActive Hydrating 3-in-1 Face Moisturizer with Aloe ($10) is one of three new moisturizers that the brand released which were created with 97% naturally derived ingredients. Each formula was created to use as a daily and nightly moisturizer or can be applied as a mask treatment to hydrate skin.

Typically naturally derived ingredients are taken from a natural source or may be produced with very minimal processing methods. If in fact the ingredients in this moisture are taken from nature that would mean they had very minimal processing and would not include synthetic chemicals. I’m not a chemist but I have my doubts that Garnier SkinActive Hydrating 3-in-1 Face Moisturizer with Aloe is as “natural” as they want you to believe considering the amount of fragrance that these products contain.

That being said, I didn’t buy this moisturizer because it contained naturally derived ingredients. I purchased it because I liked the idea of a multitasking moisturizer that promised to sooth and hydrate drier skin.
