Kat Von D MetalMatte Mini Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Kat Von D MetalMatte Mini Eyeshadow Palette ($39) is a new, limited edition palette that contains 10 eyeshadows in a mix of matte and metallic finishes that were featured in the original, larger Metal Matte Palette that launched last Holiday.

I don’t own the original Metal Matte Palette so this was a good investment for me however, if you do own it already this isn’t a necessary purchase as all these shades are readily available in that palette. Of course, if you LOVE that palette and are running low on those shades perhaps purchasing the MetalMatte Mini Eyeshadow Palette will prove a good purchase for you!

The original palette contained 22 shades for $60 each shade weighting in at 0.06 oz in size. This go around the palette is $39, includes ten shades, and all of them are 0.06 oz each. It’s a little expensive if you’re looking at the while purchase as you’re getting less than half of the original shades and you’re getting 12 less shades for $40 which is more than half the price of the original palette. If you’re giving me less shades at least cut the cost in half. I think $39 is expensive by any means but taking into consideration the original was $60 with 22 shades why can’t the new version be $30 with ten shades?

None the less I purchased it and here’s my thoughts and review.

Yes to Coconut Energizing Coffee 2-in-1 Scrub & Cleanser Stick Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Yes to Coconut Energizing Coffee 2-in-1 Scrub & Cleanser Stick ($7.99) is a new hydrating exfoliating and cleanser stick that washes dirt and oil away while exfoliating skin for a smoother, softer look and feel.

Cleanser sticks were all the rage about a year or so ago and that trend is now moving on to the drugstore it seems. I have a love hate relationship with these sticks. I find them awesome for travel and actually really like a few I’ve tried but I’m also slightly put off by it potentially being a breeding ground for bacteria not to mention stick cleansers can be incredibly messy sometimes. None the less there are ones that have wriggled their way into my heart like the Tarte Frxxxtion Stick 3-in-1 Exfoliating Cleanser.

I actually like this new Energizing Coffee 2-in-1 Scrub & Cleanser Stick a lot but I’m pretty sure some of the ingredients aren’t exactly great for my skin.

Tarte Knockout Tingling Treatment A Toner and Potential AHA?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Tarte Knockout Tingling Treatment ($39) and Blemish Bully Acne Spot Treatment ($16) are two new Spring 2018 launches that are being added to the brand’s permanent collection this month. I prefer physical exfoliating products but I’m slowly trying to get into chemical ones. I really like Sunday Riley’s Good Genes and I’ve also started injecting Drunk Elephant’s T.L.C. Framboos Glycolic Night Serum into my nightly routine.

Tarte Knockout Tingling Treatment resurfaces skin and restores its natural pH. The vegan-friendly formula contains a 10% acid complex formulated with glycerin, niacinamide, salicylic and lactic acid. One thing that concerned me was that fact they say “you’ll like the burn”. Umm this isn’t one of those Seabreeze type products is it!? It does have some very good ingredients, we’ll see how it turns out!

Ingredients:
Water/Aqua/Eau, niacinamide, lactic acid, citric acid, propanediol, glycerin, gluconolactone, malic acid, phytic acid, salicylic acid, sodium benzoate, magnesium chloride, acetic acid, potassium sorbate, allium cepa (onion) bulb extract, calcium gluconate, cochlearia armoracia (horseradish) root extract, commiphora myrrha resin extract, myrtus communis extract, rumex acetosa leaf extract, thymus vulgaris (thyme) flower/leaf extract, calcium chloride, sodium chloride, potassium chloride, sulfur.

The second skincare release is a new acne spot treatment called Blemish Bully. This is an acne treatment gel with a proprietary skin-recovery complex that promises to quickly clear up breakouts with salicylic acid, vitamin B3, and azelaic acid.

Tarte Knockout Tingling Treatment and Blemish Bully are available now at tartecosmetics.com and sephora.com.

What do you think of these two new products?
