Makeup Revolution Luxury Banana Powder Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Makeup Revolution Luxury Banana Powder ($8) is a mattifying, bright yellow powder that sets foundation, reduces shine, and corrects redness or pink undertones while brightening skin. I’m a massive fan of Ben Nye Banana Powder so imagine my surprise when I saw how incredibly similar Makeup Revolution Luxury Banana Powder was to it. I decided I had to try it out for myself considering the price is nearly 50% less than Ben Nye’s formula.

Take a look at my review below.

NYX Epic Ink Lip Dye Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

NYX Epic Ink Lip Dye ($6.99) is a new lightweight, pigmented lip stain that was introduced with the NYX Spring 2017 Collection in 12 shades. I used to love lip stains! They were seriously the only thing I used on my lips back in the day. Nowadays I’m more of a lipgloss girl but lip stains still hold a special spot in my heart.

Like many brands NYX seems to have been inspired a bit by Korean makeup and beauty trends as lip stains particularly ones that give you a gradient look are all the rage in Korea. I personally don’t like the look, it reminds me of a corpse. Sorry!? Eep! I do however, like long wearing lip stains so, that’s why I purchased this one. I was surprised at the poor reviews this one got as I ended up liking it a lot!

Here are my thoughts and review.

NYX Stripped Off Whipped Charcoal Cleanser Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

NYX Stripped Off Whipped Charcoal Cleanser ($12) is a new whipped, foaming charcoal cleanser that launched with several new NYX skincare products for Spring 2017.

NYX might have been inspired by Asian collagen cleansing foams when creating this. I happen to be a very big fan of Rosette’s Strong Mint Wash and this quite reminds me of that formula (sans the mint). Charcoal has become an increasingly popular ingredient here in the US for it’s apparently ability to attract dirt and oil like a magnet so, it makes quite a few appearances in a variety of cleanses, scrubs, and other skincare products lately.

Let’s take a look at the NYX Stripped Off Whipped Charcoal Cleanser.

NYX On the Spot Brush Cleansing Pad Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

NYX On the Spot Brush Cleansing Pad ($10.99) is a new, permanent makeup brush cleansing pad that launched with the NYX Spring 2017 Collection. Makeup Brush Cleansing Pads broke ground about two years ago and now, suddenly, everywhere you turn someone has a new version out. If you asked me a few years ago if I needed a cleansing pad to clean my brushes I’d have likely laughed and said, “What’s wrong with my hands?!” After trying out Real Techniques Brush Cleansing Palette I have most definitely changed my mind about these brush cleansing tools.

If you use your brushes with creams, liquids, or even harder to remove eyeliner or eyeshadow and you have a tough time getting brushes completely this is where a cleansing palette will help. Cleansing palettes are typically made out of soft silicone and have tiny spikes which you can rub your brushes across to get them cleaner, faster. Those little groves and spikes in the cleansing palette really help to get gunk and buildup out of your brushes. I know I can’t get my concealer brush completely clean using my hands! The palette removes all the concealer very, very easily. So yes, cleansing pads sound like a gimmick in some ways but I promise they aren’t.

Here’s my thoughts on the NYX On the Spot Brush Cleansing Pad.
