I picked up one of the new J.Cat Beauty Compact Cushion Foundation ($18) which is a new cushion foundation that the brand introduced that’s available exclusively at Ulta.com. As a fan of cushion makeup I was excited to give this a try. It contains hyaluronic acid which is ideal for my drier skin but still light enough for oily skin as well.

Tom Ford Shade & Illuminate Lips ($60) bring me back to some of my first experienced with makeup. Help a sister out to jog her memory here, remember Revlon or was it Covergirl had powder lipsticks? They were duos if I remember right and each compact had a powder lipstick and a balm that would set the lipstick. I’m thinking it was Revlon or maybe Covergirl that made them. This had to be the mid-90s or so!

Earlier last year, Milk Makeup released their powder Lip Pigments and I think it was the first time in a very long time that powder lipstick actually made a come back. Sadly, the world is lacking in the powder lipstick department.

Until now anyway because Tom Ford has a few shades of their new Shade & Illuminate Lips Palettes up for grabs for Spring 2017 and just looking at them brings back so many feel good makeup memories.

Lorac teased their Pirates of the Caribbean Collection yesterday on Twitter! How many people remember when the Duwop Isla Sirena launched? That was quite the fiasco but oh so much fun!

I’m actually currently in Beauty and the Beast Makeup mode but if I’m honest I’m more excited about the Lorac Pirates of the Caribbean Collection, because, pirates.

No word what exactly this collection will include but the image they tweeted appears to be a palette of some sort plus they hinted that wouldn’t be all. So, perhaps new blushes? Lipsticks? Gloss? All inspired by pirates and our dear Jack.

We’ll have to wait and see what they brew up but just know I’m excited fan girl now.

Cargo takes it to Hawaii for Spring 2017 with there stunning You Had Me At Aloha Eyeshadow Palette ($34). With a mix of neutral and aquatic shades the beautiful Cargo You Had Me At Aloha Eyeshadow

Palette for Spring 2017 was inspired by Hawaii’s natural beaches, floral, and forest landscapes.

The palette includes 12 eyeshadow shades, a black eyeliner, as well as a dual-sided brush for application.

I’ve always been a fond fan of combining pops of aqua with naturals. Gold and brown on your lid with aqua on the lower lash line is really a beautiful Summer-y look! I haven’t been interested in hauling a Cargo Palette in a while but I find this one very, very appealing!
