The Anastasia Beverly Hills Subculture Eyeshadow Palette is set to rule over your Fall 2017 Eyeshadow Palette when it releases next week on the brand’s website (July 25th to be exact) and today you can get it at sephora.com. This is being hailed by everyone as Modern Renaissance’s but the palettes seem crazy different to me and not alike enough to be related. Subculture is a lot more tame and contains some quintessential autumn shades like khaki green, brown, mustard yellow, and purple.
It’s hard to say but a lot of the colors in the promo image appear to be mattes! I have to admit at a glance the colors look gorgeous but my mind quickly went to, “Hmmm how will these work together?!” They seem a tad bit mismatched but I’m a little creatively challenged when matching up shades so, I could be utterly wrong about the crazy awesome eyeshadow looks you can create.
I don’t really need more moisture at the moment since it is Summer but I purchased Olay Age Defying Advanced with Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Gel Cream Moisturizer because it was too tempting to resist as a dry skin girl who’s always looking for a way to hydrate.
Lately, the drugstore has been flooded with Hyaluronic Acid everything. Neutrogena released a Hydro Boost Skincare and Makeup Collection earlier this Spring but I wasn’t terribly impressed with the skincare aspect of the release. But I’m always interested in checking out new drugstore skincare that does have the ingredient which led me to the purchase of this new Olay Age Defying Advanced with Hyaluronic Acid Hydrating Gel Cream Moisturizer. And also, tis the season for gel moisturizers! They are always so great in the Summer as they are hydrating, lightweight, and wear well over SPF.
I’m sure you already heard about the new Maybelline Master Camo Color Correcting Pen from Face Studio which is available in an array of color correcting shades including some unique ones like red and orange. Hell, by now everyone has come across at least on youTube video where someone is all Harry Potter wizard-like with a tube of red lipstick and a wave of a hand to correct dark circles. I haven’t personally tried to diffuse my dark circles with red lipstick but props to every guru who went there and made a video about it to tell the tale.
Anyway, red lipstick can now be reserved for your lips only because Maybelline Master Camo Color Correcting Pen is available in a red shade to help ease those pesky circles on deeper skin tones. As for me? I had to be different so I picked up the orange shade which or apricot which was created with light to medium skin tones in mind. It’s suppose to diffuse the appearance of dark circles so, of course I had to give it a whirl. Honestly though, I suffer more from tired, sunken in eyes than I do dark circles but occasionally I’ll wake up not only have to deal with puffiness and tired eyes but also a bit of darkness so, I set this aside for the days I did have those dreaded dark circles.

I’m not really one that concentrates on my skincare in the Summer because I really go lighter in the warmer weather. Because who wants to wear a ton of lotions and potions on their face plus a ton of SPF on a hot, sunny day. Right? Less is more when it comes to Summer skincare but load up on the SPF for sure.
