Addiction Toyko Coming to the US but Under Jill Stuart Beauty?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

The Jill Stuart Beauty US has finally closed and posted the following message on their website.

Jill Stuart Beauty U.S. has closed.
We are so grateful for the beautiful #JILLGIRL community. Thank you for your support and inspiration over the years.
You can still shop for select Jill Stuart Beauty products at our retail partners Beautylish and the FLIP appr.

But today, I did get an interesting e-mail from Jill Stuart that said “Coming Soon” with a link and when clicked it leads to their website and displays the Addiction Tokyo logo with a coming soon and be alerted to know when box. Hmmmmmm…..! I’m not sure what Addiction and Jill Stuart have to do with each other outside of sharing the same parent brand, Kose. Obviously this means Addiction is launching in the US which is very exciting. But on the other hands, does this also, mean any old links to Jill Stuart Beauty will automatically revert to Addiction going forward? And does this also mean that the email list for Jill Stuart is converted to Addiction going forward?

Who knows but whatever is brewing is exciting as Addiction is a beautiful brand and very much worth looking into when it does get a US launch.

I’ll be following this launch closely and will update you with details!

Jerrod Blandino Is Baking Up Two New Brands in His Toy Box Brands Incubator

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Jerrod Blandino, co-founder of Too Faced Beauty, snagged a whooping 1.45 Billion From Estee Lauder for his beauty brand Too Faced Cosmetics back in 2023 and now it appears he’s using some of that to create a new incubator called Tox Box Brands.

As you know a business incubator helps startup companies and individual entrepreneurs to develop their brands and businesses by providing aid with management training, office space, and ending with venture capital. According to the Toy Box Brands’ website, Blandino and Johnson are committed to bringing a “clean” and “eco-friendly” work ethos with the brand’s they back. JJerrod is quote as saying, “We vow to do better for ourselves, you, animals and our planet without sacrificing performance.”

Although, their brands seem off to a rocky start with a jewelry cleaner?!? Yup, Diamond Drunk is a new “non-toxic scented beauty ritual for your precious gems”. At $75 per scent this is one expensive jewelry cleanser! And I gotta admit it’s confusing to me it’s scented. Who needs scented jewelry cleanser? They have four fragrances launching which are rain, rose, fruit, and lemon drop.

But hey, on to the beauty…!

They’ll also be a new beauty brand available called Policy Society launching at Ulta starting August 27th which will be a smaller collection that features a blush palette, mascara, and lipgloss with prices ranging from $27-42.

These are two of the first brands to join Too Box Brands. We’ll have to see what other new brands pop up in the future. with Toy Box Brands backing them. I’m not sure any of this looks terribly promise at the moment so, we’ll have to keep our eyes out for what happens next. Personally, I find the beauty market heavily saturated. I also, think it needs a really hard reboot. It’s difficult coming up with fresh, new, and unique ideas in this market. That being said, with the birth of Tiktok, beauty is still having a very viral moment. I’m not sure if brands like Polite Society and Diamond Drunk will be something that creates enough buzz to get Tiktok hyped up but you can never tell what will go viral. I’ve seen some pretty interesting things go viral when a Tiktoker starts endorsing how great it is. So, it may not be of interest of me but that doesn’t mean others won’t want to dive into this!

What do you think of these two new brands?

Christmas Tree Stores WIll Liquidate and Close This List of Stores

As you guys know I had a fight with my dad about Christmas Tree Shops and their lack of inventory recently. He was adamant the selection they had in stores was as awesome as ever but I was all like, “No dad, things are looking sparse around here and I think I could hear my echo when I walked into the store!”

Well, news broke over the 4th of July Holiday that Christmas Tree Shop or as they are now known CTS Stores, have defaulted on their $45 million dollar loan. The retailed filed for bankruptcy in May and apparently if they don’t find a buyer very soon they’ll closing a lot more stores which are listed below (10 stores were already closed in May).

The store has been struggling and sales have continued to slump since the pandemic. Bed, Bath, and Beyond used to be the parent company of Christmas Tree Shops but in 2020 Handil Holdings, LLC took over. Sadly, Bed, Bath and Beyond have had their own struggles with bankruptcy this year as well! Christmas Tree Shops have been in business 53 years but sadly it does look things are coming to an end. I’ll personally miss the store as I really loved their fun, inexpensive seasonal items. I did notice after their rebranding that prices went up considerably but inflation as also, set in. If they are to completely close I’d miss shopping there for sure! According to news sources the closing are supposed to happen with the next few weeks and here is the full list of Christmas Tree Shops that are closing:

Too Faced Better Than Sex Foreplay Mascara Primer Because You Need the Foreplay Before the Sex

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Too Faced Better Than Sex Foreplay Mascara Primer is a new lengthening, thickening, and lifting mascara primer that’s available for Fall 2023. Too Faced has me on this one as it not only can be used to prime lashes but also, you can use it as a mascara if you want. I don’t really like Too Faced Better Than Sex Mascara it doesn’t quite work for me but I’m curious about this formula.

This promises to improve the wear of your mascara by maintaining the lift and curl of lashes with nylon fibers that give them a fuller appearance. It also contains a mix of argan and grapeseed oil to gently hydrate lashes during wear. If you have straighter lashes that droop downwards the double-arch crescent-shaped brush will lift and pull lashes upwards and outwards.

I just really like the idea of a mascara primer that works as a mascara as well as a primer. Most mascara primers are white and aren’t exactly something you’d wear alone. I’m curious if this formula will be lightweight or more like you’re wearing two mascaras. We’ll have to test it out and see. I do know I’ve reached a stage in my life where my lashes seem a bit more wimpier (I blame my lash curler!) and a primer always helps them to look longer and fuller. And hey, btw, do you know what really makes some awesome mascara lately? That new Maybelline Falsies Mascara! Loving it!

What do you think of Too Faced Better Than Sex Foreplay Mascara Primer? It’s available now for $29 (or grab a travel-size for $16) on Too Faced’s website and should be launching for Fall 2023 at other retailers.
