Makeup Releases I’m Skipping and Makeup Releases I’m Buying This Month

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

There’s a lot of very interesting items releasing this month some of which I do want to buy and others are a big of a skip. If there’s an anti-haul we should of course, balance it out with a haul as well right?

So here’s a few makeup releases I’m skipping this month and a few I’m totally buying (or have brought already!).

Colourpop at TJMaxx and Marshalls

The eagle has landed. Colourpop is now at TJMaxx and Marshalls! Several reports have surfaced on IG and Tiktok including ones from Tjmaxxmakeupaddict on Instagram that Colourpop has a few items appearing in stores at TJMaxx and Marshalls that include Super Shock Sets, Lip Gloss, Liquid Lipstick, Eye Shadow Stix, Eyeliners, and Blush Sticks. The prices are around 40-50% off retail. This isn’t an entire range of product mind you. It appears to be overstock or discontinued items.

Honestly, as fun as it is to score a deal at TJMaxx and Marshall’s I wouldn’t purchased E.L.F. nor Colourpop from either location. Both lines have a tendency to expire quickly and with the amount of sales that happen you aren’t scoring that big a discount to indulge in possibly very old product. You might as well wait for a sale and get it directly from the brands and hopefully end up with a fresher line of product. Not to mention you items wouldn’t have been opened and touched by a million people because I dunno about your stores but all the beauty items are constantly being opened at mine and sometimes swatched or even worn. It’s rather gross.

I love a good deal at TJ but sometimes the beauty department can use a little helping hand! But you can’t deny some of the brands popping up at these stores lately is rather interesting. From Pat Mcgrath to Guerlain (Yes, Guerlain Foundation is at Marshall’s) no brand is immune to the charms of a deal at TJ Maxx.

If you’re willing to roll the dice to see if you end up with something good you can hunt Colourpop now at TJMaxx and Marshalls!

Here’s All Of the New Skincare We Don’t Need But Eh, We Might As Well Try

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I know I for one do NOT need anymore skincare in my life or my routine at the moment. I’m good, I’m golden. I have all I need and much, much more. I sort of hate myself because I’ll find a routine I really, really like that really, really works for me but I suddenly want to switch it all up because something new pops up. I think I like the thrill of the chase of finding some new miracle skincare product and some part of me hopes I never find that most perfect product! And hey, I already choose wisely many times already and I have several hundred holy grails but hey, new skincare is pretty exciting right?

Here’s a few new skincare picks for Summer 2023 we probably don’t need but we might as well try out.

NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush Is One of Two Blushes I’d Take With Me If I Were Stranded On a Tropical Island But It Probably Wouldn’t Survive the Trip

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
5 stars out of 5

Is there a 1000 star review? Because the NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush deserves that and more. I have two blush brushes that I’d totally take with me if I got stranded on a tropical island or if I had to live only two blush brushes for the rest of my life. Without hesitation I’d pick the NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush and someone is bound to ask so, I’ll take you the second. It’s the Bobbi Brush Blush Brush! I have a Bobbi Blush Brush I’ve been using for like twenty years and it still looks brand new. It’s pricey AF at $65 but worth every single penny I paid for it.

So, is the NARS Yachiyo Kabuki Brush but it’s a smidge cheaper at $40! Only problem is it won’t last nearly as long as Bobbi Brown’s!

I Purchased Carol’s Daughter Disney the Little Mermaid Wash Day Delight Conditioner for the Packaging but Stayed for the Formula

Who saw the Little Mermaid? Who loved it? Me! Me! Me! After seeing all those sneak peeks of Sebastian and Flounder I was bracing myself to hate this film. Because really, that little CGI crab and fish just didn’t have the magic of the cartoon. I actually still feel there was a BIT TOO much CGI in the film but I still loved it much to my surprise (imagine if they went all Splash with this film? How freaking cool would that be?!! I mean, if Daryl Hannah can do a full on mermaid Disney can make it happen right?). Halle was magical and enchanting. She had this sweet innocence about her that was very enchanting.

I oddly didn’t see a lot of merch for the film or maybe I wasn’t paying attention? I feel like if this was released a few years ago we’d have MAC getting on board and creating some sort of collection and perhaps E.L.F.! Remember E.L.F. took on Disney tons of times in the past and of course, Ariel was def part of that! There was a Disney Ariel Storylook Eyeshadow Palette, an E.L.F. Disney Ariel Crystal Brush Gift Set, E.L.F. Disney Ariel Go On and Kiss the Girl Set, and many other items from the Little Mermaid they released several years ago! And let’s not forget Sephora’s Ariel Collection! They even had a Kiss the Girl Perfume! Soho Beauty really went hard for a while as well with a variety of cute makeup bags including the Little Mermaid Makeup Bag Collection!

I’m sort of sad there aren’t a ton of collaborations. Ulta does have one they did but I’m not sure I’m in love with and also, Pacifica and Black Girl Sunscreen. I guess it’s testimony that the beauty bubble is popped and inflation doesn’t have us wanting to dish out on “cute” makeup items just because.
