E.L.F O Face Satin Lipstick ($9/0.13 oz) is a new satin finish lipstick containing marula oil, squalane and jojoba esters in ten shade selections. It took me a minute to figure out what they were trying dupe with this because let’s be honest, there’s always something E.L.F. is trying to replicate on a more inexpensive scale. It finally came to me O Face Stain Lipstick is a nod to NARS Audacious Lipsticks. I gotta admit though the name is just really bad. What does it even mean? Orgasm Face? That’s the only thing that came to mind! Sorry, my brain just went there.

This is actually the latest in a long line of products that Tiktok is going to make you buy. The hype around it is already starting and it’s fascinating to watch. The lipstick is decent but it’s in no way as good as people are shilling it out to be. “OH MY GOD YOU GUYS THIS IS LIKE BEST SATIN LIPSTICK THAT HAS EVER TOUCHED MY LIPS!” No, sadly, it isn’t but Tiktokers will have you believe that in no time at all.

And let’s discuss that $9 price tag. Remember when E.L.F. Lipsticks were a buck? That being said, they did warn us prices would be going up this year which I still do appreciate. And also, I don’t mind paying more for a product that’s formulated well but I gotta admit this isn’t a formula I’d willingly pay nine dollars for. There are a lot of really great drugstore lipsticks out there and this just isn’t one I’d rave about.

Ariana Grande Mod Vanilla Is My First 2023 Fragrance Purchase

Ariana Grande MOD Vanilla Eau de Parfum is one of two fragrances (MOD Blush is the other) that launched a few short weeks ago for Spring 2023 that contains notes of pink freesia, plum, creamy musks, vanilla, and other yummy gourmand notes.

This is my first fragrance purchase of 2023 and it was a blind one. I purchased it and Mod Blush from ulta.com using my 20% off coupon code I got in December as well as reward points I had saved up. I had no idea what to expect but I had already heard the rumblings of what a delightful vanilla it was and that alone put it on my radar! Combined with the fact that I really enjoy Ariana’s fragrances, it was an easy buy for me.

Wet n Wild 5 in 1 Essence Primer Liquid Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
3 stars out of 5

Wet n Wild 5-in-1 Essence Primer Liquid is a new and interesting facial primer that smooths and hydrates skin in preparation for makeup. I picked this up at Ulta recently along with their new Ta-Da! Eraser Silicone-Free Waterproof Eye And Lip Makeup Remover (review on it coming soon).

I was instantly drawn to this as I liked the idea of an essence primer. It just seemed a unique and interesting idea and even though I love my current facial primer (NYX Plump Right Back Electrolytes Plumping Primer Serum) I decided to give it a try.

Dior is Sold at Ulta And One Wonders How You Feel About That?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Dior is now sold online at ulta.com and Ulta stores, and I’m wondering how you feel about that. This is one of the most interesting developments in the makeup and beauty world I’ve seen for a while. As you know both Sephora and Dior share LVMH as a parent company. I never expected to see an LVMH product at Ulta due to Sephora seemingly having the rights to LVMH brands but here we are and Dior makeup is now sold at Ulta.

I swear my brain exploded when this news hit the Internet several days ago. I really shouldn’t be surprised because the line between luxury and mid-range has been hazy as of late. I think luxury has finally come to terms with the fact they have to be a lot less exclusive and a lot more inclusive to gain a new following. A following they may lost due to inflation, the beauty bubble breaking, and the lack of interest in beauty as of late.

Dior joins some brands like Tom Ford Fragrances, NARS, MAC Cosmetics, Hourglass Cosmetics, and many others who made the move to Ulta over the past few years. Ulta’s cash reward points system continues to be a major draw for makeup lovers and trumps Sephora’s program that failed to take off and lacks the generous rewards that Ulta offers.

How do you feel about Dior joining Ulta? It’s a weird placement for a luxury brand that much is true. It’ll be equally strange seeing it filled the shelves next to drugstore makeup but luxury makeup hasn’t been what it once was for a very, very long time now. It’s long since looked its shine and glamour when the formulas took such a dramatic nose dive. What’s sad is the prices continue to rise but the formula keeps declining.

You can shop Dior now at Ulta stores and ulta.com!
