Benefit Hoola Glow Shimmer Powder Bronzer for Summer 2021

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Let it be known that Benefit Hoola Glow Shimmer Powder Bronzer was all my idea! Benefit Hoola Glow Shimmer Powder Bronzer is a new version of a beloved fan favorite! It’s still the same great bronzer you know and love but instead of a matte finish it’s now available in a shimmer one! I’ve been saying for years that Benefit should do a shimmery version of Hoola so I’m taking full credit for this ha….!

This Sephora exclusive has the same finely milled, silky consistency of the original but rather than the matte finish we know it has a subtle hint of shimmer to not only add warmth but a glow too. I find Hoola a little difficult to wear as it gives me a muddy complexion but I’ve always liked using it in conjunction with either a cheek stain or swirled with a powder blush. I know a lot of people enjoy using it to contour with but since I’m not a contouring queen I tend to just use it for added warmth in the colder months. My technique is to swirl my blush brush in Hoola, tap off the excess, and swirl my brush into my powder blush and apply! It gives me the flush of color I want plus the added warmth from Hoola. I’ve always wanted a bit of shimmer or glow to it though! This new version contains just that.

Benefit Hoola Glow Shimmer Powder Bronzer is available now at Sephora.

Bite Beauty Daycation Whipped Cream Blush Please Tell Me This Shade Range is Wrong

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Bite Beauty Daycation Whipped Cream Blush ($32) is a new whipped, lightweight cream blush launching for Summer 2021 in four shade selections. This “clean” formula is infused with papaya extract gives cheeks a natural flush of color with a luminous glow.

The formula apparently helps to promote glowing skin and can be worn not only as a blush but also as an eyeshadow.

The idea of a whipped formula sounds great as typically whipped anything provides a smooth, pore-free finish however, I do question the packaging on these blushes. It looks like a hard plastic shell! Hopefully it’s a squeezable tube and most important let’s hope the blush doesn’t harden with time and prove impossible to get out.

I’m a negative Nancy today don’t mind me but these colors….!

I mean, let’s hope that the shades are prettier in person compared to the promo images. I’m just not feeling the shades at all. I couldn’t say I’m drawn to a single one. The bronze ones are sort of ugly, the lilac would probably wash out my complexion….maybe the berry? But I’m not a fan of purple blushes.

Bite, can’t we go back to lipsticks please? Pretty please? With a cherry on top?

Summer is all about fun, bright shades of color. If you’re going to name a shade Watermelon Marg at least make it watermelon in color!

Shades:

  • Watermelon Marg (light pink pearl)
  • Coconut Rum (luminous warm bronze)
  • Melon Mojito (glowing peach)
  • Hibiscus Slush (radiant berry)
