Who’s Trying NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer?

NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer ($30) finally arrives this week at Sephora.com and I’m scrambling to get my hands on it. We heard about this new creamy all matte concealer back in November and I’ve been biding my time until it hit Sephora to grab up a few shades.

Why am I so excited about a matte concealer? I know right? With my dry eyes you’d think I’d avoid it but Tarte Shape Tape proved me wrong about matte concealers so, hopefully NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer will do the same. But what I’m really excited about is the fact that I have high hopes that this might just be a dupe for my beloved Maybelline Dream Mousse Concealer.

NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer is a full-coverage concealer with a lightweight, oil-free formula that has a natural finish according to the brand. I’ve had my play with many matte, mousse concealers over the years like Japonesque Velvet Touch Concealer and CK One Mousse Concealer and I generally like them. I know that might seem weird for someone with dry eyes to say but they actually do look good under my drier eyes as the formulas tend to be soft, easy to blend, and settle quite well under my finely lined eyes without looking dry or creasing.

I’m hoping NARS delivers good coverage with a formula that doesn’t crease!

Will you be trying it?

I’m excited to give it a try.

NARS Soft Matte Complete Concealer is available now at Sephora.com.

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I purchased one this weekend and the formula is amazing!! Left no creasing under the eye and was perfect in covering blemishes without detection. I will be purchasing more shades soon for sure..

This might work for under my eyes as they always crease on me due to oily lids. Not sure about on my spots though, liquids are better on those.

This concealer has a nice consistency and blends beautifully – a little dry so not good for crepey undereyes but good for blemishes and redness. It’s not as tacky or creamy as LM Secret Cove – feels light but not smeary or “wet” like liquid concealer. Sadly, coverage is only so-so; brown spots, red marks and dark circles are diminished but not completely covered. Also, for me, it didn’t last very well. After only two hours it didn’t seem to be there anymore.
