Musings of the Day
Ahhh days of old. The Muse loves reliving her youth and remembering really bad makeup choices and drugstore purchases gone horribly wrong.
I remember Sea Breaze which was the equivalent to deep skin diving with a cotton ball. I swear that stuff removed oil, dirt, skin, and all. It dried me out like the Sahara Desert but lord knows it sure dug deep. Am I alone in my twisted love for this stuff? Granted I’d never use now thanks to being in the know about alcohol and dry skin but back than it was incredible.
Bonnie Bell Lip Smackers! Totally where my pokemon, collect ‘em all disease originated from. I had to HAVE all the flavors when I was like 11 or 12. I remember for Christmas my sister would always stuff my stocking with the 100 pack….remember those packs of a million? I was all kinds of cool for having that many flavors.
Hmmm…..let’s see…..there are more I’m sure of it.
Oh yes! Nozema! Actually it’s still an old age favorite around these parts and has a prominent space on my shower shelf. I slather it on like nobody’s biz while I’m doing my thing in the shower. All that stinging has to mean it’s deep cleaning right? No seriously I love this stuff.
How about you?
What are some of your old school favs?
I’m ever hopeful some of you are as old as me and can kick back and remember the good old days of wacky skincare and makeup finds.
The Muse is at her local makeup counter (pick a counter, any counter) and a MA (makeup artist) stops over to start pimpin’ her wares. Maybe this is the Muse’s first time trying this brand or her normal MA is on vacation or some such thing.
Now when have you headed to a counter or even Sephora and NOT run into some aggressive MA. I think it’s rare to not run into someone who wants to sell you the entire counter and than some more. I mean anything….orange foundation? “Oh my god this color is perfect for you!” Vomit Colored Eye Shadow? “This will really brighten up your eyes!” And on and on and on…..
Which brings me to today’s Musings!
Are you a push over?
Do you handle aggressive MA’s or sales reps with an iron fist?
Or do you get sucked into their vortex and end up spending money on stuff you really didn’t want to begin with!
Jump ahead to find out if the Muse is a stand up kinda girl or a big mush when the pressure is on at the counter.
The Muse is fond of biatchin’ herself a blue streak when it comes to terrible customer service but thankfully she always gets great makeup time at her fav counters at Nordstrom, Macy’s, and Saks. I’ve always had the pleasure of being treated beautifully well at counters that I purchase from. However, I do choose to deal with the same reps over and over again which could account for the good service I get as they know my likes, they know I’m out to spend some money, and they just know a bit about me and who I am.
On occasion I’ve been known to run into a rep or two who is snotty or not helpful or just plain rude.
Wanna Muse about your worst or maybe your funniest makeup counter experience?
Jump ahead for mine.
How’s Monday treating you? My Monday has been a nightmare. It’s a busy time at work plus I’m kinda feeling my way around WordPress at the moment. You may have noticed some of our comments got lost in the move on older posts.
So sorry about that as we’ve had some bloody good blatter in the last few years haven’t we? Oh well guess we’ll just have to make some new memories together.
Why don’t we start out those memories with a new Musings for today!
Today’s Musings is a favorite topic of mine since I get asked the question alot. Are my friends as into makeup as I am?
Hmmmm….how about you?
Your mates as heavily into makeup as you are?
Maybe they are more into it than you are?
Tell the Muse all about it and jump ahead for my answer.
Today’s Musings is about replenishing your stock of “things I use everyday”. You know what I mean…you reach for ‘em daily, like mascara, foundation, primer, etc….
I recently had to make a list of items I was running low on so now is a perfect time to Muse about what I need and hear what you’re running out of and need to replace.
Check it after the jump!
