Milani Pure Passion and Soft and Sultry Eyeshadow Palettes for Fall 2018

Milani Pure Passion Eyeshadow Palette and Soft and Sultry Eyeshadow Palette are on the way for Fall 2018! I mean, these are a no brainer for anyone that purchased, used, and fell in love with the Milani Bold Obsessions and Most Loved Mattes Eyeshadow Palettes right?!

It’s a weird thing but when Milani launched their first 12-Pan Eyeshadow Palette I had my doubts about the quality. Milani rarely failed me over the years! As a drugstore brand, they have a steady round of hits with very few misses. Why I felt wary about a larger eyeshadow palette was quite unjustified. Maybe I’ve just been burnt to hard by some of the larger drugstore palettes I’ve tried lately like the horror show that was the Revlon Not Just Nudes Palettes or most of the Maybelline Eyeshadow Palettes like The Rock Nudes (CRINGE!).

See photos below of both new palettes!

None the less, I had my reservations especially because these palettes are priced at $20 each! That’s quite high for drugstore maybe but I guess we really have to come to terms with the fact that drugstore makeup has some premium pricing lately.

None the less I went ahead and purchased the Bold Obsessions Eyeshadow Palette and was blown away by the formula, texture, pigmentation, and blendability. It was an excellent, excellent pick up and well worth the money.

Recently, Milani also introduced a larger palette called the Gilded Desires Eyeshadow Palette which I’m actually waiting to receive in the mail! I’m hearing excellent things about it and I hope it proves as good as the prior two palette releases.

Later this month, on their website, they’ll again gift us with two more 12-Pan Eyeshadow Palettes one of which has some gorgeous smoky taupe shades. Both will be available on their website first and hopefully they’ll arrive at Walmart soon after (which is where they started launching first in stores).

I’ll be picking up both to say the least.

Will you?

Is that a cool toned palette of nudes on the right? Oh my gosh! On a dark day, a nice spot of light. If it doesn’t sell out before I can get to it (I understand the Milani palettes go like hot cakes), I would love to get that one. And mattes, too.

  • kimkats

Oh, Mama LIKEY. Those are really pretty! Esp the one on the right – I MUST have that one!! Thanks for the heads up Muse!! 😀

  • Maria

I really like the palette on the left in the Instagram photo. Not sure if that is passion one. I just got the Gilded desires palette in the mail and it is made in Taiwan, not in USA. Did not use it yet.

I love the look of the cool tones. Milani is doing the Lord’s work lately lol.

Which I’d waited for the one on the right. Colourpop’s Fame Palette was a bit of a bust. My husband kept saying, “That one looks like that one and that one and this one looks like this one.” To be fair, some did swatch slightly differently, but the eye looks I created all looked the same and were pretty blah.

I absolutely will be getting these! I love the Most Loved Mattes and these both look gorgeous.

Yes, we are all waiting for a cool neutral palette, and the Dior (is it backstage?) is not universally adored. And Fame? It’s pretty light/ non-inclusive, and only cool compared to their sea of warm neutrals. And this old lady is going to throw the old lady palette dart at the cover. Eyes right in this post. Possibility alert. Maybe a Milani has done it. The crucial question of coming releases is HAS NORVINA?

I was on reddit last night and saw a discussion on Nirvana palette. First someone removed the background of the photo we’ve all seen. Half the cool went away. Then someone reorganized the layout and all of a sudden, everyone started comparing it to a Huda palette and questioning the inclusion of the browns and no grays. I hadn’t noticed and still don’t really see the Huda thing, but do wonder why transitions must be warm. Anyway, after reading Norvina’s E! online interview, I thought for sure that this would be the palette of my dreams, but what indeed if it’s really just a “cool compared to Naked Heat” situation?

Muse, these are 12 pan Palettes rather than the 9 pan you mentioned, so that might make the value better. I am hoping to lay my hands on the cool toned one, and if I can’t get it am hoping this is the start of more cool tones to come.

The cool toned one is really speaking to me. I have Bold Obsessions and wasn’t expecting much out of the pigment because it was drugstore eyeshadows, and easily went overboard because of my thinking. The shades are SO pigmented and a little goes a long way! I have cool-toned skin and it’s so refreshing to see a company make a palette for gals like me.

yay I’m so glad you liked it ;-D I had my doubts as well but was totally surprised how much I liked it!

Ok,, I bought this one (and the matte) on Friday, returned them today 🙁 SUCH a disappointment, the colors are beautiful!.. I rotated and used them every day since purchase .BUT within 5 hours they turn into a muddy one colored mess, regardless of how good the primer is (I tried 2 UD and Elf) within that time my eyes looked like 2 pits of orange!!!! (Pure Passion), The matte one since it’s on a purple color range, naturally purple fades into brown, so it wasn’t that bad it looked like I had a brown smokey eye, but if I wanted a brown smokey eye I would use my brown shades. The “shimmers and foil colors” actually fade into nothing, a flat matte, which was alright but I have same colors to get that look.
The other complaints that they are hard to blend yada yada yada and not pigmented enough, that was a BUNCH of bull, had NO problem with that aspect of the palette, but I didn’t expect them to get as muddy as they did after 5 hours, so back they went.
It’s sucks because the individual little shadows (around 5 bucks each) really ROCK, the color stays where you put it and it actually lasts 10 hours before they oxidize, which is fine by me since I work long hours etc. and I expected the palettes so have the same quality but nope…
    *****sighs**** oh well.
    Have a good one. 🙂

    • Isabella Muse

Oh no I’m so sorry to hear it Bela! I really like them! That worked out great for me! So sad 🙁 Sorry girl!

    Isabella,

Have you used the Paletta Milani Pure Passion eye shadow palette?.
Has the same quality as the Loved mattes palette?
Would you buy the palette Soft and Sultry?
    Do you look high-quality?
