Ulta 21 Days of Beauty September 2018 And a Potential 20% Off On the Way?

The date of the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty in September 2018 have been confirmed across a few different sites the last few days. Rumor has it the sale will start September 2nd and will end September 22nd which has me wondering about a Platinum and Diamond 20% Off Coupon day!

I think it’s safe to say at this point Ulta is a major player in the beauty world and a hard competition for Sephora. They’ve been collecting brands as quickly as Estee Lauder and L’Oreal lately offering beauty lovers access to MAC, NARS, and more. Not to mention they updated their rewards tier to include a new Diamond Member status as well as offering many, many incentives and sales to shop with them. I actually thought Diamond would be unattainable but I made it to Diamond earlier this year! And let’s not forget some of the exclusive and cool collections like Too Faced Tutti Fruitt an early access to many different items lately that Ulta seems to get before anyone else!

Sephora is struggling to keep up with new updates to their own reward system but most makeup junkies I speak to daily are all about the cash back rewards at Ulta.

The only thing missing from our beauty life at this point is some sort of flash shipping from Ulta and at that point we can all bow down to the greatness that Ulta Beauty has become.

For the first time ever Sephora is having a Beauty Insider Appreciation Event later this month with 20% Off for Rouge, 15% Off for VIB, and 10% Off for BI. Typically Sephora has their major discount sale closer to the Holidays but this year they just randomly dropped a percentage off for August and a lot of people, myself included were pretty shocked!

I think it’s safe to say with the Ulta 21 Days of Beauty starting so soon we’ll likely see a similar deal coming down the pipeline for Diamond and Platinum Members. I know I’m hoping for one since I have a list of skincare I want that’s a mile long!

Keep your fingers crossed!

Either way, I’m still looking forward to what the 21 days of Beauty sale has up on offer!

I’ll keep you posted as more info emerges!

10x points day for Platinum and Diamond members should be happening soon as well!

  • Lisa C

I’m so excited that Ulta is truly stepping up their game and giving Sephora a run for their money. It’s hard to compete with what Ulta offers, 2x 3x 4x and even 10x points. ALL the tons of GWP and continuous sales. And like you said.. we can bow down to them once they offer flash shipping. If they ever start carrying all the high end brands (Dior, Guerlain, etc) then I’ll be kissing Sephora goodbye! I too became Diamond and was shocked. I have a bank of 6400 pts and just used 2000 on the new Tutti Frutti. Come on Sephora, beat that!!

  • Wendy

That day that Ulta had that Flash Sale last week, I earned so many points from my purchases that I had $80 to spend, and I did! LOL I much prefer Ulta over Sephora. I’ve been shopping at Ulta since it was called Ultima II. Who remembers that?

    • Amber

HOLY CRAP!! I *never* knew that! Wow.. I totes remember that store!!

I just hate they don’t have a flash shipping-type thing. I love Ulta, but sometimes I just want a 6.00 sheet mask so off to the Sephora website I go.

      • wendy

I hear ya — and for me, if I go to the store, they never have anything in stock, so I always order online!

  • kimkats

I always look forward to Ulta’s 21 days of beauty, esp. when they send the little flyer in the mail. I go thru that thing over and over til I have the print all over my fingers!! It’s such fun to look at – have you been able to find a sneak peek of what’s in the flyer this year Muse? I’ve been looking and haven’t seen diddly yet!!

Oh, did you happen to see that, while sephora is upping the game with its rewards system, they’ve quietly jacked the Flash shipping price from $10 to $15? Tripped over that earlier today. Hiss. Boo. Growl. >:(

    • Isabella Muse

I haven’t sadly! I wish! I never get it until the week after the sale starts. my mail is obviously slow! Really!? Gotta check that out!

        • kimkats

Lemme see if I can find where they showed it was $15… It was in with the details of the new and improved rewards program….

DANG IT. I can’t find it now… >-( I absolutely saw it, but maybe they changed it back, or it was a typo? I sure hope it stays at $10. Since they won’t let you use your points as $$ off a purchase, they need to do something…

          • Isabella Muse

I believe you! wouldn’t surprise me if they raised the prices!

        • kimkats

Ok, just did a live chat with Sephora, and they are or did raise the price to $15 to keep up with increased shipping costs. So – don’t know why it’s not reflected on the website yet (because you’re absolutely right – it still shows $10) but it’s gone or will go to $15.

          • Isabella Muse

interesssssssssting! I’ll keep my eye on it!

          • gummibear

They emailed the $15 change to people who already have Flash shipping subscriptions. It was a notice saying that automatic renewals and new flash shipping purchases after Sept 26, 2018 will be charged the higher rate.

    • Hollie

SAME! I actually print a blank monthly calendar and fill in the days I must shop and pin it up at my desk!

    • Janki

I got an email from Sephora saying at the expiration month for flash shipping it will go from $10-$15.
I wonder if folks are buying one thing and getting free shipping and samples.

  • ledonatella

I have to disagree on the Ulta love- I want free shipping or I won’t shop online- I order at Sephora, get to choose my samples, get free shipping on anything and it’s at my house in a day or 2 tops. I get lots of perks at Sephora, especially for higher end brands that I like, no it’s not a perfect reward system but I like the products I get for being a Rouge. I will not shop low end or drugstore for the most part- not to be snobby at all, but you get what you pay for I find. At the actual stores, the products are a mess, testers gross, groups of high schoolers sticking their fingers in everything. Yeah you get that a bit at Sephora but not near as much…there’s no one watching the store at Ulta. I never get asked if I need help- and I’ve been to 3 or 4 different ones but it’s the same. I want to like them- I really do! But my money goes to Sephora, they’ve got their problems too I agree- but I don’t feel like I’m shopping at a discount store.

    • Lori

Agree. I live a few blocks away from the Manhattan Ulta in the UES and while I’ve been there a few times and think it’s okay, it definitely has a different feel than the Sephora around the block. I mostly shop online at Sephora and like you said, it gets to my apartment in 1-2 days tops with free shipping on anything (I’m Rouge). I’ve never bought anything online at Ulta and don’t think I will. Plus they don’t carry MUFE, Christophe Robin, Hourglass, Rita Hazan, etc. I thought when Ulta opened I would have made the switch but I still prefer Sephora big time.

I think the store cleanliness issues have a lot to do with location and accessibility, as well as the staff care issue. My local big S is in a mall with easy accessibility from a highway intersection and it’s on a major bus route. It is disgraceful. The Ulta is freestanding, only accessible by car, no public transportation. It’s light, airy, well lit and maintained. Big S couldn’t be worse if it were staffed by seagulls. I have to go there to see the d/c’d pencil liners, and am dreading it! Unsupervised youngsters prefer a large mall, so Ulta gets far fewer grimy fingers. I never thought i’d hit diamond, but it’s mid August and I have under 150 to go. Plus, never having paid for any ABH yet, the Lorac 4, and other fab products speaks to me big time. Ulta also has caught up and surpassed S on the AB/KB front as well. They look like Nordie’s. Go, Ulta.

    • Kish

I think this varies by location. The local Sephora here is always a mess, out of stock of almost EVERYTHING, takes forever to get new stuff, and it’s always overrun with high school girls with their hands in everything. You couldn’t pay me to touch a tester there. The two Ultas nearest me are always clean and well stocked, the staff is a lot more helpful, and they have a lot more higher end stuff than they used to. Plus, I like that they have a Salon. I’ve been Rouge for 5 years, but I won’t be this year. Already Diamond at Ulta.

  • Denise

I’m trying to remember- doesn’t ULTA usually have a 20% off coupon go out shortly *after* the fall 21 DoB ends?

  • Elise

Yaaaasss! I confess when Sephora dropped their news, I immediately thought Ulta would respond in kind. 😉 I love how Ulta has adapted and added great brands. I swear Ulta offers more 20% coupons every year! My birthday is Sept 8th, so that coupon would mean a super stock up on some Devacurl and super splurge on prettystuffs! Fingers are double crossed! 😀

    • Isabella Muse

I sure hope we’ll see one! It seems logical since Sephora is having their sale!

  • Carrie

Guess I’ll be making another Ulta order sooner than I thought. I want to stock up on some perfumes I ran out of.

  • Adrienne

Muse, I need your help on a product that I am unable to find any information on and I wasn’t sure where to post this but you are familiar with the majority of beauty products low and high end and have a lot of knowledgable readers.So….the show Wendy had a segment called Trendy at Wendy where the customers can get prestige and high end products for up to 75% off.
I was suckered in and ordered a kit with a skin tightening facial mask, antI aging serum and stem cell concentrate.
It stated 75% off so I paid $90 for these products and unfortunately I’ve developed these hard bumps that don’t have a head to burst and other irritation
The company is “Predire Paris” this was a part of the Moroccan Liquid Gold Retinol collection. I found one “website” with no reviews and no other references. I would think something so prestigious out of Paris would have more information. It’s non returnable- all sales final. I thought I was getting a deal and treating myself but now feel duped and could have gotten a real luxury product based on your reviews. Are you familiar with this brand at all?

      • Adrienne

Thank you, you confirmed it wasn’t legit so that was a plus. I checked your beauty abroad prior to my post. I figured if you didn’t know, no one would. I guess seeing it on a celebrity show doesn’t make it legit unfortunately. Thanks so much, lesson learned

        • Isabella Muse

I’m sorry 🙁 It might be some sort of endorsement Wendy didn’t disclose!

  • Claudia

Girl, I am waiting on platinum appreciation day!!!! Which will hopefully be sometime this coming week because I have a huge order ready and waiting. If only they would have those Essie colors back in stock

      • Delta

I’m hearing that platinum 10X day should be on the 27th!!! Hoping so… I only need 170 more points to reach 1k and should be easy to find $100 more to spend to reach 2k points. My birthday is on the 2nd which will give me another $10 to spend during 21 days :). C’mon Ulta haul!!!!

  • Amy

Thank you for sharing. I am a vib rouge and hadn’t heard of the Sephora sale.

  • wendy

My sister just called me with her test results (breast cancer scare), and it’s NEGATIVE. It’s been a rough few weeks. So, we’ve decided to CELEBRATE starting Wed at Sephora! LOL Watch out Sephora, we are coming! <3 <3 <3
