3 stars out of 5

Too Faced Peach Mega Moisture Lip Balm ($17) a new moisturizing lip balm with a “peaches and cream infused-formula” that hydrate lips with intense moisture. This released a few short months ago along with the Too Faced Peach Lip Scrub and Too Faced Sugar Peach Wet and Dry Face & Eye Palette.

You know I’m obsessed with lip balms especially super hydrating ones since I have drier lips! I picked this up hoping it would be as “mega” moisturizing as it promised.

I’ve been very vocal about what I do and do not like when it comes to Too Faced packaging. Some items come across way too childish for me but I have to admit I do love the packaging on the Peaches and Cream Collection (as well as that damn Tutti Frutti Collection which slayed my heart). The lip balm is packaged so perfectly and will look very cute on my vanity with it’s pretty peach peach face plate. The jar has a nice weight to it and holds nearly an ounce of lip balm.

Sadly, that’s probably one of the few good things I have to say about this product!

It deserves to be said that I really enjoyed the lip scrub that launched with this Peach Mega Moisture Lip Balm both of which happen to share the same scent and flavor. However, unlike the lip scrub the balm can’t be rinsed away and it’s something that will be staying on your lips for a few hours. I mention this because I really don’t like the flavor of this. I’ve mentioned before how much I really enjoy the fresher, peach and fig scent from the Peaches and Cream Collection but sadly, that doesn’t quite translate well to flavor. I get a bitter peach perfume flavor from this balm which ruins the experience of wearing it for me. It just tastes horrible! I’d rather have a fruity peach flavor! The perfume element totally turns me off.

The balm itself is quite moisturizing and works great if you’re one to wear lip balm as a sleeping mask for your lips. It’s very thick and dense on the surface so you do have the break through that initial surface to get to the creamier texture below. Once that initial layer is broken the true texture is revealed. It’s very, very thick and will likely wear best at night versus daily (it’s a bit too heavy for day use) and feels quite moisturizing on my lips but does lay atop them rather than fully absorbing. I do wish it had a hint of oiliness to the formula when it warms up which will add shine and some lightness to the formula but it does not. It’s like a heavier, denser Vaseline formulation. My lips do feel very soft and hydrated after I use it but it never fully absorbs so I tend to wipe it off after a few hours and reapply if I want.

I probably won’t switch up my beloved Sara Happ Lip Slip for this balm!

Too Faced Peach Mega Moisture Lip Balm isn’t exactly a perfect lip balm formula. It offers some great moisturizer benefits but it’s quite heavy and the flavor is simply awful which prevents me from raving it further!

Where to buy

Sephora Too Faced

Too Faced Peach Mega Moisture Lip Balm is 0.51 oz in size and $17. I thought the formula had some very nice moisturizing benefits however, it was heavier in formula and it did lay on top of my lips versus fully absorbing which meant I was wiping it off after a few hours of wear. I also didn’t love the bitter peachy perfume flavor they used in this which I found very unpleasant and felt like it left a very bad taste in my mouth. These two issues prevented me from enjoying this formula!

Pros

  • Anyone who doesn’t mind heavier lip balms that don’t absorb completely.
  • Those who don’t mind fragrance in their lip products!

Cons

  • Bitter peach perfume flavor leaves a bast taste in one’s mouth.
  • Moisturizing but very heavy, needs to be removed with a tissue after a few hours

Who

Too Faced Peach Mega Moisture Lip Balm might be appealing for those that require a very heavy, moisturizing lip balm but I do feel there are better options out there with far superior formulas that aren’t as bad tasting!

My pleasure! Just feel like there are better formulas out there :-/

Ugh, this sounds really bad. I have a major thing for lip balms, too. To be honest, my holy grail of regular-use lip balms (so far, anyway, since I am always on the lookout for better products, lol) has been a set of unflavored/unscented Paula’s Choice balms. They’re pretty basic, but they’ve been great for my lips. I use them at night, and my lips actually feel better in the morning after using them. I’m so used to oddly getting chapped lips from using balms that it’s weird to actually have a balm that is non-irritating!

I haven’t tried them! Will add to my list as I need to stock up on some of Paula’s stuff 😀 was waiting on a sale 😀

My emails say 15 sitewide, but I know there’s better around the corner. S.t. I use P lip &body over the laneige lip sleeping. I don’t have dry lips unless I use Nudestix. Idk wtf problem that is; giving it all away. The magnetic makes my lips look temporarily like a flaking house, but it’s the product, not the lips. Way icky.

Try the Pacifica balms. I too get chapped lips from certain balms(wtf is that about anyway) and then I stumbled across those. I get the Pineapple Splash flavor because I like Pineapple. It has a nice amount of slip, is not greasy like Lipsmackers and not waxy like Chapstick or EOS. If you ever tried the Honest Co lip balms they are somewhat similar. And they don’t collect in the corner of your mouth and turn white and gross. They carry the at Ulta.

I was disappointed in this too when I tried it at Sephora. Not only was the balm hard but the peach scent to me is VERY perfumey and not a scent you want on your mouth. Needless to say I did not purchase.

It made me long for my Bonne Bell Peach Lip Smacker so I scoured eBay and Amazon for it. I wish I could find Bonne Bell’s Sponge on Sparklers too, remember those?! I had a Peach Stardust flavor and shade that was to die for!
