Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick Review & Swatches
Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick is a new lip color that launched in 18 shades with the Revlon Spring 2021 Collection. I’m not a big fan of liquid lipstick anything which made me a bit meh about purchasing one of these but I dove in anyway and decided to give it a whirl!
I have a feeling my review of the Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick is going to be as unpopular as my opinion and review of Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink. Everyone seems to ADORE Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink accept me! I hate it. I find it tacky and sticky on my lips but youTubers adore it and rave it on and on and on. I just don’t get the love.
I’m just not a lover of matte liquid lipsticks I guess!
Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick is 0.17 oz in size and around $7.49 to $10.99 depending where you purchase it. If you’re comparing the two price wise Maybelline Super Stay Matte Ink is around the same at $9.49 to $7.99 for the same size.
I keep mentioning Maybelline’s formula because my first try with Colorstay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick was much the same I experienced with Super Stay Matte Ink! I applied it, let it set, and man, it was all gross and sticky. This was a one time event though as the several times after that when I used it I never experienced that again. Not sure why I got that weirdness the first time around.
This is a very thick, creamy liquid lipstick and has a balmy finish once it settles. It applies easily enough and has a smooth finish with a slight shine initially that sets to a more matte finish as it dries down. The stickiness that I mentioned did go away after I used this a few times and I ended up with a more balmy finish that felt quite nice but heavy on my lips. I never felt like this was a dry or drying formula. It wears comfortable if not heavy on my lips. The pigmentation is incredible. The color I selected was bold and provided full color coverage! Nothing sheer here!
Unfortunately it does take a while to set and once it does set it isn’t completely transfer proof. I noticed traces of color on my tea cup! It also starts to start to crack and fall into my natural lip lines within the first hour of wear which gives it a dry appearance. I wouldn’t say I had feathering or migration issues but the color just fell into my natural lip lines and gave it a cracked appearance. They promise sixteen hours of wear but I was honestly ready to remove it within 90 minutes because it just looked worn out on my lips after that initial hour of wear. The formula does have a buttery vanilla-like flavor and fragrance.
Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick just wasn’t for me. I really didn’t like this formula! The texture is lovely and the color great but the finish and wear just wasn’t for me.

Where to buy
Revlon Colorstay Satin Ink Liquid Lipstick is a new, permanent liquid lipstick available in 18 shades which is 0.17 oz in size and $7-$10 in price depending on where you purchase it. This formula is thick, creamy, easy to apply, very pigmented, and has a buttery vanilla fragrance and flavor. Unfortunately, it does take a while to set and when it does it isn’t completely transfer-proof and did fall into my lips natural lines within an hour of wear which gave it a dry, cracked appearance. It has a balmy finish that felt comfortable to wear but was quite heavy on my lips and although Revlon promises 16 hours of wear I felt like removing it after two due to the fact it looked worn and aging on my lips within the first 90 minutes.
