A Love List About Pa Jeon, Hair, and Makeup

Hello friends. It’s been a while. I hope you’re well. Last month, I realized how hard I can work and how productive I can be. It was a very busy work month and for the first time since starting Musings of a Muse, I didn’t blog all month long. I just didn’t have the time to spare. It was a very productive month and although, the New Year starts in January my work year starts on March 1st as that’s when the busiest times of the year comes to an end.
I surely hope this post finds you well, happy, rested, and healthy. It’s been a very crazy time in the world and just when you think you’re seeing the light at the end of a long, dark tunnel suddenly that light goes out and it feels like hope is lost. But please remember, it can’t rain all the time. At some point, the sun will come out and things will look better again. Our world will get better and hopefully, the people in it will too. I haven’t really shared a lot of my loves lately but I thought I’d take time out today and share some with you. And I hope maybe you’ll share yours with me.
In the food department, I am currently obsessed with the fact Trader Joe’s now has Pa Jeon in the frozen department. My boyfriend happens to make a crazy good Pa Jeon and hey, they aren’t that terribly hard to make but Trader Joe’s version isn’t half bad. I am VERY, VERY guilty of eating these a little too often. I normally fry one up and top it with a chili egg (sunny side up). Pa Jeon is one of life’s greatest joys. A delicious concoction created with yummy fresh green scallions and eggs. Some folks call them Korean or scallion pancakes. You can find them in Trader Joe’s frozen department. They come with four pancakes for $2.99.

To make them, I add a little avocado oil to a pan and fry them on medium heat for about 2 minutes per side. After that, I spoon a little Momofuku into another frying pan and top it with a cracked egg to create my chili egg. When that’s done I flip the egg onto the pancake and drizzle on a drop more of Momofuku, sprinkle some fresh scallions, and a little pinch of sea salt. Perfection! It’s so yummy! I’m salivating just thinking about it. Try it! Let me know what you think!
Have you ever misted yourself with Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry only to wish that your hair could smell like that yummy cherry scent? Have no fear, I’m here with your solution! Tweak’d by Nature Supersize Cherry on Top Scrub & Conditioner get your hair smelling just like Tom Ford’s Lost Cherry! A friend recommended this to me and she was spot on with how it smelled. It really does smell a lot like Lost Cherry! I’m loving the rich, creamy consistency of the conditioner and the scrub is great when you need a deep clean (don’t use it daily as it can be a little drying).

Ok, so don’t quote me but I think I’m in love with L’Oreal Revitalift Vitamin C Vitamin E Salicylic Acid Serum (Get it 20% off with code 168198 at Ulta). I’ve been using it for about two weeks and I am convinced my skin looks so much less lackluster. I’m a fan of a much more expensive Vitamin C and this isn’t too badly priced plus it apparently contains 12% Vitamin C. Between this and the It Cosmetics Confidence In Your Beauty Sleep Serum & Moisturizer I ordered I’m pretty much set in the Vit C department. I’ll review the L’Oreal one for you soon as I try it a bit more!

By the way, it hasn’t been super cold in New York but we had a few interesting days where the temps just dropped and my nose started to have that weird crusty thing going on and my cheeks started getting chapped and dry. I’ve started using a combo of hydrating serums from Inkey List and it helped so much! I use all of these in the evening and I love how much brighter, smoother, and glass-like my skin looks. I start with the Hyaluronic Acid Serum, the second step is the Collagen Peptide Serum, next the Polyglutamic Acid Serum (warning! this stinks!), and lastly the Ceramide Serum. It’s completely overkill LOL! But it’s working out for me well. How do you keep dry skin at bay?

Also, did I tell you I’m really loving the new Tree Hut Vanilla Scrub and Body Cream? It’s a super soft scent but it’s so beautiful for layering. I’ve been using it along with EOS Vanilla Cashmere Shea Better Moisture Body Lotion and some Lush Vanillery and I smell just like a cupcake!

Flower Beauty has my heart lately. Their new Plump Up Gloss Sticks are AMAZING. So shiny, and moisturizing, and they look amazing on my lips! Read my review if you haven’t already! Also, their new Get Real Concealer is a bit sheer for me (I like super pigmented concealer) but I swear it makes me look ten years younger!
