5 stars out of 5

Hard Candy Glosstopia Lip Repair Oil ($7.97) is a new, affordable range of hydrating, transparent lip oils with vitamin e, squalane, and jojoba oil. Lip oils are having their come back moment in the sun thanks to Tiktok. I really feel like Zoomers go hard for lip oils. It could be because they prefer more minimal makeup! I’m not sure they sure are popular at the moment. I remember when Milani introduced their Moisture Lock Oil Infused Lip Treatment in 2016. That was sort of the big introduction to more affordable lip oils (there was Aquafina but that was really BACK in the day haha!).

Since that time many brands have introduced lips! NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip Vegan Lip Oil, Florence by Mills Glow Yeah Lip Oil, Covergirl Vitalist Elixir Lip Oil, and on and on and on…! And hey, for those who might remember Hard Candy already had a lip oil back in the day called Blooming Lip Oil and it was pretty darn awesome! But one thing I feel they all share in common is the fact they aren’t technically oils are they? They are more like a lightweight hydrating lipgloss! Do we agree?

Hard Candy Glosstopia Lip Repair Oil is available in six flavors which are $7.97 each and 0.17 oz in size. They come housed in a chubby barrel with an oversized sponge applicator for application. The topper has a large ball on one end which I guess is cute but it was a little frustrating to store them because of that excess packaging part. The applicator is fantastic! It saturates well with the gloss and applies it flawlessly. As you may know I had issues with the NYX Fat Oil Lip Drip’s applicator and felt it ruined the formula for me. I had no problems with Glosstopia Lip Repair Oil! It’s perfect. It applies a nice bit of gloss to lips in a smooth, even layer.

I got two shades which were Deep Desire a fuchsia pink and Scarlet Bliss a light peachy shade. They both apply transparent without any color. In my picture below I’m wearing Deep Desire! I didn’t bother doing a second pick wearing Scarlet Bliss as the shades appear the same on my lips. They don’t have much in the way of pigment and I’m fine with that as it makes it easier to use them on top of my favorite lipstick.

This formula is thin, runny not sticky nor tacky and incredibly shiny and lightweight. As I said above, this formula doesn’t quite qualify as an oil but more a lightweight gloss and I’m cool with that. It gives my lips a ton of shine and looks great worn alone or over my favorite lipsticks. It does wear a shorter time at around an an hour and a half on its own and about two hours over lipstick but during that time it give lips nice lightweight moisture. It wears very comfortably and feels weightless without being tacky nor sticky. They do have a flavor that wasn’t to my liking. I tasted peach with Scarlett Bliss and a bit of berry with Scarlett Bliss. It’s sort of a fruity perfume-y flavor. It does disappear fairly quickly!

Hard Candy Glosstopia Lip Repair Oil is absolutely worth a pick up when you hit up Walmart next. These are a lovely little Summer treat for those that like glossy lips or just need a little lightweight moisture.

I heard about the perfume taste and it turned me off completely. I just know I wouldn’t wear it based on that alone. But it looks lovely on you.

yeah sadly it’s a perfume-y flavor! Goes away fast enough but does leave a little aftertaste!

Darn it, I was just at Wal-Mart yesterday (I really only go there a couple times a year). I’d really like to try the Deep Desire. I was in the lip gloss area, browsing Wet ‘N Wild (and did not buy!).
