Urban Decay Naked Metal Mania Palette is a new 12 shade palette that will be available with the Urban Decay Fall 2023/Holiday 2023 Collection. This is available now at sephora.com and urbandecay.com.

Well, I think we passed Naked a long time ago. Not sure why they keep throwing Naked into the names of these palettes. However, it probababy is a necessary evil since we had a Heavy Metal Eyeshadow Palette that already had launched for Holiday 2017. So, Naked was necessary to make this more “new” I guess.

And look here she is:

Dare I say it was a little more exciting than the new Naked Metal Mania Eyeshadow Palette which looks a little bit like the recent Too Faced Cosmic Crush Eyeshadow Palette! Hmmmm…..!

Shades:

  • Doublekick (cream beige, satin finish)
  • Sound Tower (warm light brown, matte finish)
  • Studio (warm medium brown, matte finish)
  • Shred (champagne rose, metallic eyeshadow finish)
  • Thrash (copper metallic, metallic eyeshadow finish)
  • Decadent (metallic gold eyeshadow with a wet look effect)
  • Headbang (rose gold, metallic eyeshadow finish)
  • Power Chords (magenta eyeshadow with a metallic finish)
  • Spike Studio (metallic silver eyeshadow with a wet look effect)
  • Scene (gunmetal silver eyeshadow, metallic finish)
  • Road Crew (cool deep brown, soft matte finish)
  • Heavy (black, sparkle-matte finish)

Urban Decay, I love you but what is going on lately? I’m just not feeling this launch at all. I love you’re back to bold and vibrant but these shades just look boring for some reason. They also, look like they have no rhyme or reason. I’m trying hard to love this! Really I am! But I feel like it’ll be on sale before the Holidays even arrive. I will give you the benefit of the doubt as I had a little hate for the Naked Wild West Eyeshadow Palette too and I sort of ended up loving on it so maybe I’ll feel the same way about the Metal Mania Eyeshadow Palette.

Urban Decay Naked Metal Mania Eyeshadow Palette is available now on the brand’s website and is coming to Ulta on August 27th and other retailers September 10th.

I think the palette badly needed a metallic dark red and maybe a metallic gunmetal. Then it’d be more metal. I’d replace the gold and pink shades with these. It feels confused, so I feel confused.

red would be really nice and a gunmetal but not sure it can redeem much!

Sigh…UD seems to be perpetually stuck in the 2010s! This color story is not appealing at all IMO.

This might be an unpopular opinion but I think they should go back to what made them great and re-release the original Naked and Naked 2 along with some of the fabulous neutral eyeliners and even maybe some eyeshadow singles that they discontinued in the last few years. I’m an old woman now (lol) but back in my early 20s I was an absolute UD neutrals purist and I bet they could hit that “nostalgic millennial” market if they played it right.

There is always a market for neutrals…if they insist on keeping Naked their anchor line after 12+ years then they really need to lean in and make it make sense again!

I wish this was stuck in 2010. It looks dry and chalky! At least in 2010 we didn’t have dry and chalky LOL! 🙂 the singles were amazing! I mean REALLY good. When they reformulated the singles that’s when it all went down hill!
