Hard Candy Smoothing Primer Balm Review & Swatches

Hard Candy Smoothing Primer Balm ($7.94) is a new solid balm primer much like Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer and E.L.F. Poreless Putty Primer. This launched back in February but that was a busy month for me and soon after COVID hit so I never did grab any of the newest Hard Candy launches for Spring 2020 until recently. I could have ordered it online but Walmart and Target are probably two of thee worst places to shop online due to way they ship products (everything always arrives broken!).

Anyway, I decided to give this a whirl and see how it compared to other solid primers that have been launching lately. As you know, I purchased the Tatcha one when it originally launched and it failed to impress me. I have dry skin but Tatcha’s formula made me feel really slick and rather gross! I did like the E.L.F. one and I’d compare it to Hard Candy’s version as far as formula goes but I think I may be liking the Hard Candy version a bit more.

Let’s check it out below!

Hard Candy Just Glow Silk Blush Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
5 stars out of 5

Hard Candy Just Glow Silk Blush in Gush Blush is my new favorite shimmer blush of the moment! I went to Wally World about two weeks ago because I’m a freak that’s addicted to all those Pioneer Woman dodads and of course, I hit up the Hard Candy display because it feels like ages since we talked. Some small part of me wanted to see the Marilyn Monroe Collection in person and it’s as uneventful as I thought it would be but Just Glow Shimmer Blush? That’s SO not disappointing.

You know my obsession with glow-y peachy blushes right? This fits the bill perfect and I’d say it even looks a lot my beloved and long gone MAC Sweet Vision Magic Dust Powder but a bit lighter in color!

Here’s a Love List and All The Info You Need About Gotham At the Moment

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Wakey wakey! It’s almost Friday! The weekend looms ahead and I’m ready to live deliciously!

I’m a bit tired this week as work has been a stress-fess of fun but as I said in a recent Instagram post I’ll never complain about being busy or stressed because right now so many people are out of work. I’ve always been very grateful and thankful to have a job in bad economy times, in good ones, doesn’t matter, I always feel blessed that I’m self employed and have steady work. I think hard work and good work ethics have been instilled into me since birth. My father is a super hard worker and he’s always pushed both my sister and I to have good work ethics. He’s of the firm belief with hard work comes great success. I push myself hard in all things I do in life. Even when I’m not feeling 100% I’m still pushing hard and trying to do the best I can do.

As for the world, well, it feels like it’s crumbling down around us. Oddly enough, Gotham feels untouchable at the moment. The streets are eerily quiet and there aren’t tourists stopping in the middle of a busy sidewalk to take pictures or to gawk at their surroundings (it’s sort of every New Yorker’s dream to just walk quickly from A to B without being sidetracked by a tourist). There aren’t tons of “ants” marching across the street as I head to work in the AM but there’s still a sense of normalcy that we haven’t experienced in nearly four months.

I still haven’t seen friends or family as we are all still social distanting but fears, anxiety, and paranoia of going to the store have disappeared. I feel a lot more comfortable and confident going to stores by myself and not sitting in the car while my boyfriend goes in or me cowering behind him hanging on to his belt loop if we do go together. I mean, I went to Home Goods twice in the last seven days all by myself without being terrified I was going to catch something (and he was pretty relieved because he hates Home Goods).

So, Gotham, Gotham is good at the moment. Cases are still falling, less people are dying (thank goodness), and generally speaking about 99.9% of the people are wearing masks (although you do have a few folks with it down around their neck or covering their mouth not their nose). Andrew isn’t on the news daily anymore but no worries he’s still on Twitter lacing it into us daily like our dad’s and reminding us to behave.

I dunno how long this will last and I’m waiting for the shoe to drop and someone to break the news to me that a second wave is coming. I hope that doesn’t happen but we still have a good deal of time to go before a vaccine is available.

If you’re in California right now, Arizona, Florida, wherever cases are hitting hard please know my heart is with you. Every night I close my eyes and send good vibes and wishes to those struggling right now. I hope things get back to normal for you too soon!

Now that you know what’s going on in Gotham how about a love list to wrap up your week?

Here’s what I love this week!

So, You Wanna Smell like a Sanrio Eraser?

When I was a kid I was obsessed with Hello Kitty and Sanrio. Ok, let me correct that a little bit. As a child and as an adult I’m a tiny bit obsessed with Sanrio. Aren’t we all? But when I think back on my childhood I have a lot of good memories I associate with Sanrio. I remember the mall had a stationary store and they had everything and anything Sanrio related. Stickers, gum, pens, pencils, pencil boxes, and most importantly erasers. I remember I had a pink Hello Kitty eraser that had a triangle pointed top and a square body which fit into a pink case which slid the eraser up and down. It’s odd how the mind works sometimes and how I can vividly remember a silly little eraser like that. Most importantly I remember how amazing it smelled. It smelled just like Lush the Comforter! It was this slightly sweet scent…! I can’t even begin to describe it to be honest but I just remember it smelled amazing and when I smelled Lush the Comforter for the first time all the memories of that tiny eraser came flooding back!

Stop! Time for a Coffee Break!

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Did I ever tell you how I don’t drink coffee (well, I do have the rare occasional macchiato) but I love the smell of it and I like smelling of it? I have so many different coffee fragrances it’s downright obscene. But there’s something so cozy about a warm, creamy coffee scent. That being said when Replica released their Coffee Break Perfume at Nordstrom over the Holidays I snatched it up super fly fast. It was so disappointing. I really don’t get the coffee element in this fragrance at all! This one was more of a warm oriental blend and not really a foody, coffee scent.

That being said, the fragrance did disappear quickly off Nordstrom but good news it returns at Sephora.com this month! They now have Replica Coffee Break available in a full-size but most important of all it’s also now available in the smaller travel spray. The travel-spray is a great way to try the fragrance before deciding if you need the more expensive bigger bottle. It’ll set you back $30!

Grab it at Sephora.

Anyone try Replica Coffee Break and like it?
