Black Owned Beauty Brands Available Now at Ulta

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I’ve asked myself how I could do more when it comes to the Black Loves Matters Movement and sometimes the answer is actually really simple. Buy more from black owned businesses! I already support a lot of different black owned beauty businesses when it comes to hair care. Having long, wavy, frizzy, and drier hair I’ve always found comfort for my locks in brands like Carol’s Daughter, Shea Moisture, Mane Choice, and many others.

I’ve complied a list of a few brands I like and are easily available at Ulta! Supporting these businesses goes a long way at diversifying our economy and bringing more attention to black beauty brands!

Black Owned Etsy Shops To Support

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Good Morning!

I hope your Monday went well and your Tuesday is even better!

Today I thought we’d explore some black owned Etsy shops! It’s been such a long, long time since I did an Etsy Discovery post! That saddens me because I am a huge Etsy shopper and fan but I feel bad that I never really share some of my purchases on here. One thing that recently became important to me was educating myself on discovering new Etsy shops that were black owned and support those small businesses and feature them here on Musings of a Muse. I’ll be doing that in the new few weeks as I test out some of the items I’ve purchased from a variety of different shops!

Skip ahead and discovery some of these shops for yourself.

Sephora #Lipstories Lip Balm Is Just What We Need Right Now

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Like many of you I love Sephora Lipstories Lipstick and now that summer is here the new Sephora #Lipstories Lip Balm is a perfect pick to add lightweight, hydrating color to lips. I think these are meant as a Fall 2020 launch but who doesn’t love a nice lightweight balm in the Summer? So the launch date fits in just perfect with the hot, humid weather at the moment.

Available in a sating and a shimmer finish these new balms come in ten shades and have a soft textured formula with mango butter and jojoba oil that adds moisture and beautiful color to lips. The packaging is the same paper that is sustainably sourced from managed forest and contains no metal or plastic mechanisms making them an environmentally friendly pick!

Sephora’s makeup line can be very hit or miss but the Lipstories Lipstick was a big hit when it originally launched in 2017. Not only was it affordable but the formula was lovely! The color was pigmented, the texture of the lipstick soft with an easy, smooth glide, and it wore quite well without migrating. I loved it and I’ve purchased many since the original launch so I’m excited to try the balm version.

These are $9 like the lipsticks but are a smidge smaller at 0.1 oz compared to the 0.14 oz size of the lipstick formula.

Sephora #Lipstories Lip Balm is available exclusively at Sephora.

I suspect these are more of a lighter lipstick than a balm! I hope I’m right as I do prefer a nice, light lipstick formula versus a more waxy or heavier balm!

Are you a fan of tinted lip balms?
