Tarte x Adelaine Morin Eye & Cheek Palette ($39) launched a few short weeks ago and was created in collaboration with youTuber Adelaine Morin. Yes, I’m old and had to Google who she was because I was all:

Ok, so, here’s the thing. I’m either not watching enough youTube, I’m too old, I may live under a rock, or Tarte selects youTubers no one ever heard of to do collaborations with. I’ll feel a lot better if someone steps in here and says they don’t know who Adelaine is either. Had the same issue when they did the Aspyn Ovard Eye & Cheek Palette but good news at LEAST I knew who the Grav3yard Girl was! Phew! See? Pop culture hasn’t completely eluded me!

Well, Adelaine I make major apologies for not knowing who you are but girl, props on the awesome palette! I like it! A lot! I didn’t expect to considering my track with Tarte hasn’t been good lately but you do a good job creating this with them!

Hey Maybelline, L’Oreal, Almay, Just Over Here Checking Your Pulse! You Guys Ok?

Summer is almost here and its been a little (A LOT) slow in the world of drugstore makeup lately hasn’t it? Remember how many seasonal and limited edition collections we’d get from Maybelline and L’Oreal? It seemed like every time you hit up the drugstore there was some new collection that popped up.

Overall, I think that many brands not just drugstore ones have slowed their roll. The releases don’t come as fast and furious as they once did! I have to say I am pretty surprised how slow things are going in Maybelline-land though! It’s been a really long while since they graced us with a brand new collection likewise for L’Oreal who has a few new releases here and there but not a solid big launch!

But as I said Summer is here maybe we can expect some new stuff from all these brands!

What would you like to see? Or are you not even a fan of drugstore makeup?

As for me, I’m still waiting for cushion blushes to finally grace US shores (L’Oreal already has one in Japan how about a few here in the US?)! Cream eyeshadows would be nice! I’d love to see those make a comeback in the drugstore world. And maybe some sort of groundbreaking concealer!

Either way, I’d just like to see some new drugstore makeup! Feels forever since we saw a major launch from certain brands!

Revlon Crystal Aura Glow Lip Oil ($9.99) is a new, limited edition fluid lip oil infused with rose quartz that launched with the Revlon Crystal Aura Makeup Collection for Spring 2019.

It’s been a little slow going in the drugstore makeup world lately but Revlon’s Crystal Aura Collection had some interesting items that I purchased when it was still very much available on Ulta’s website. Since the launch the collection has made its way to mass drugstores and is still pretty much available but it is limited edition so if you see it do grab the items you want before they disappear.
