Etude House Trench Coat Showroom Play Color Eye Palette Review & Swatches

4 stars out of 5

Etude House Trench Coat Showroom Play Color Eye Palette is one of three new 15-pan eyeshadow palettes that launched for the Spring/Summer 2018 season which represent warmer and cooler shades. Each palette is priced at 29,500KRW or roughly $27 USD. Etude house doesn’t do a lot of larger palette launches so I took note of these when they started marketing them across Instagram and purchased them as soon as they became available from online sellers.

Since I don’t like ordering from Etude House’s US portal (things always arrive broke and it’s hard to get a replacement) I got mine from my favorite ebay.com seller, F2Plus1 for $23 plus free shipping.

Out of the three palettes launched the Trench Coat Showroom Play Color Eye Palette is the warmest with assortment of warm browns, creams, taupe, and khaki shades in a range of metallic, satin, matte, and shimmer finishes.

Did You Know Pinrose Collaborated On A Sephora Collection!?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Pinrose Fragrances has teamed up with Sephora recently to create the Pinrose x Sephora Collection which includes a Clever Devil Brush Set, Scented Lip Shimmers, and Secret Genius Scented Highlighter.

This is a weird collaboration that has me singing “One of the things is not like the other! One of these things doesn’t belong!” I don’t really understand how Pinrose, a company dedicated to creating unique sensory fragrances, decided, “Hey! Let’s do a lipgloss, makeup brush, and highlighter collaboration!” It just seems odd to me.

But worst than that is the Pinrose x Sephora Collection Clever Devil Scented Lip Shimmers which apparently each have a “carefully selected Pinrose fragrance for a delightful experience.” You can’t have fragrance in a lip product that doesn’t translate to flavor as well and the only Pinrose Fragrance I can think of that would remotely taste good would be Gilded Fox. The others aren’t exactly gourmand so I have to admit I cringed slightly when they said these had a Pinrose fragrance for each shade. I could be terribly wrong and maybe the scent won’t translate to the flavor of the gloss. Let’s hope so!

Here’s the low down on the Pinrose x Sephora Collection.

Missha All Around Safe Block Mild Essence Sun Milk SPF 50 Alcohol Gives It That Quick Absorbing Texture

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
5 stars out of 5

Missha All Around Safe Block Mild Essence Sun Milk SPF 50 PA+++ ($14) is an affordable SPF option from Korea that will totally change the way you feel about applying sunscreen. I think we can all agree that SPF can sometimes be a chore since many formulas are very thick, greasy, and need adequate time to set before any other skincare or makeup is applied on top of them.

Many, many years ago I migrated towards Japanese sunscreen since I loved the quick to absorb gel textures. I realize most days I’m raving how great Japanese sunscreens are but I forget how many fantastic Korean ones are around as well.

One of those being Missha All Around Safe Block Mild Essence Sun Milk SPF 50 but it does have one major downfall.

Tarte Sea the Change Vault & Love, Trust & Fairy Dust Vault

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Makeup vaults are no longer reserved for the Holidays! Tarte has been releasing many of their seasonal collections lately as individual items or in massive vaults that contain the entire collection. They’ve been doing this for about three seasons now and apparently it’s a great success as most people seem to opt in for the vault purchase. Either you love these massive vaults or you’re mentally cringing where to store such a large piece of makeup.

I’m actually past the stage in my makeup life where I feel compelled to buy every single piece of a collection. I’ve been there, for many years, but nowadays I tend to buy items I think I’ll like and use.

But that doesn’t mean I’m not tempted by vaults like the Tarte Love, Trust & Fairy Dust Vault ($110 LE) which includes:

  • Love, Trust & Fairy Dust Eye & Cheek Palette
  • Fairy Brush Set
  • Fairy Blush
  • Lights, Camera, Lashes 4-in-1 Mascara
  • Fairy Dust

I haven’t tried them yet but the Tarte H2O Lipgloss also comes in a complete vault which has all 14 full-size shades which purchased individually would set you back $266 but within the vault are $199 in the Tarte #Seathechange Vault. Do I need $200 worth of lipgloss?! Probably not but there’s little bit of a lemming in the back of my mind that really wants this! Don’t worry my logical side is winning out here and telling me NO!

What do you think?

Are you compelled to purchase makeup vaults?

Or are you happy picking up individual items?
