5 stars out of 5

Urban Decay Sansa Stark Vice Lipsitck ($18) is one of four new, limited edition shades that UD collaborated with HBO to create. I’m not sure I’d say that Sansa plays any real important role in the battle for the Iron Throne, some may disagree, but she could surprise us at some point. The thing about Sansa is she starts out a silly, somewhat bratty girl but she becomes a strong woman. Her journey is one of strength and her evolution is accurately portrayed in A Storm of Swords when she thinks to herself, “My skin has gone from porcelain, to ivory, to steel.” This girl has had to deal with some seriously crummy men (and situations) ! Ramsay Bolton (Do your worst Iwan! I still love you!), Littlefinger, Marillion, Joffrey, it’s just one crappy man after the next. She deserves some happiness and maybe that happiness will come from her sitting on the Iron Throne. Who knows?! That would be a twist to say the least.

Through all of Sansa’s woe Urban Decay still allowed her to retain some of her girlish innocence with her lipstick shade. Her shade is one of lightness, once of innocence, one of sheer naturalness, a truly natural beauty just like Sansa.

This is probably my most favorite shade from the four released in the Urban Decay Game of Thrones Collection. I will be picking up a backup, maybe two, of this color. I didn’t expect to like it and I did expect it to give me a really bad case of zombie lipsticks but it ended up working beautifully on me

Urban Decay Sansa Stark Vice Lipsitck arrives in gray box decorated with the House Stark Sigil, a direwolf, printed across the box. The sigil is also features on the barrel of the lipstick. Inside the lipstick box is a small map of Westeros speaking of which I have such a map hanging over the fireplace in my bedroom! If anyone is as stupid ass geeky as I am there’s a wonderful Etsy seller who does amazing maps of different realms. He did one for me of Westeros and Middle-Earth and even framed them! E-mail me if you’d like his info! It isn’t cheap by any means but his work is brilliant.

On to the lipstick……!

Ah Sansa, Sansa! You are delightful. Your shade is a lighter medium nude peach with an orange undertone. This finish is a bit sheer but I THINK that might work out in my favorite. My lips are fairly pigmented and not pale in the least and I feel like maybe that helps to accent this shade. The lighter cream formula glides on easily. The texture reminds me of MAC’s Lustre Lipstick as it’s creamy yet has a subtle glossiness and a lightly hydrating feel. I wore this with a very strong eye look but I think it’ll look amazing with a more natural, nude eye. Since it leans towards being a bit warmer I don’t get that dreaded zombie lip look. I detected no fragrance or flavor and the color lasted three hours on me.

If you enjoy more nude, natural lip colors I’d highly recommend grabbing up Urban Decay Sansa Stark Vice Lipsitck! It’s a delightful shade.

Urban Decay Sansa Stark Vice Lipsitck launches later this month!

Where to buy

Macy’s Ulta Sephora Urban Decay

Urban Decay Sansa Stark Vice Lipsitck is one of four, limited edition lipstick shades inspired by the Game of Thrones books and TV show. The lipstick is 0.11 oz in size and $18 in price. The color was inspired by Sansa Stark. I’d liken the formula to MAC’s Lustre Lipstick with it’s lightweight creamy, almost balm-y texture that has a slightly glossy finish. The shade is sheerer but builds up nicely to a light medium nude peach that has a slight orange-y undertone. It contains no fragrance nor flavor and wore about three hours on my drier lips with a smooth, even finish that didn’t migrate.

Pros

  • Gorgeous nude peach shade!
  • Lightweight formula that felt lightly hydrating on lips.

Cons

  • Shade runs sheerer.
  • Wears for a shorter time.

Who

Urban Decay Sansa Stark Vice Lipsitck is incredible shade for anyone who likes softer, nude lip looks!
