Boscia Cactus Water Moisturizer Kicks Up the Gel Moisturizer Season

Boscia Cactus Water Moisturizer

Tis the season for gel moisturizers and the new Boscia Cactus Water Moisturizer kicks us right into the Summer with a lightweight, hydrating, and refreshing gel formula.

Boscia taps Queen of Night Cactus to provide moisture to dry, thirsty skin. Created with drier, dehydrated skin types in mind this lightweight moisture is also quite easy to use for oily skin users too thanks to the easy to absorb formula that delivers moisture without excess shine or greasiness. Apparently the effects deliever moisture for up to 48 hours after the initial application. The formula also contains a peptide complex to improve elasticity.

If nothing else it sounds like a great gel moisturizer and I’m all about gel moisturizers as the Summer sets in since they tend to wear quite nicely over SPF without being heavy. Plus they absorb super easily. In the Winter, I’m fine loading up different products over my SPF but in the Summer I like to keep things as light as possible but my skin does need its moisture. Gel moisturizers are always a great way to get light hydration that wears easily without making me shiny or oily!

Milani Keep It Full Nourishing Lip Plumper Review & Swatches

Milani Keep It Full Nourishing Lip Plumper ($9) is a new lipgloss collection that contains hyaluronic acid to smooth, plump, and hydrate lips that’s available in nine shade selections on the brand’s website.

I really don’t need more lipgloss in my life but the promo images of these looked quite nice and it’s been a while since Milani just did a nice, simple lipgloss instead of one of their long-wearing liquid lipstick formulas so I purchased a few shades of Keep It Full Nourishing Lip Plumper when I grabbed the Milani Blush Trio Palettes earlier last month. I had to tip myself into the free shipping zone and that gave me a perfect excuse to haul these.

Revlon ColorStay Full Cover Foundation Review and Swatches

Revlon ColorStay Full Cover Foundation ($13.99) is a full coverage matte coverage foundation that’s being re-promoted as a new formula but in reality if you contact Revlon they will tell you it’s actually Colorstay Whipped Creme Makeup in new packaging.

To me this made sense because Colorstay Whipped Creme Foundation is a beloved product but the jar packaging wasn’t ideal. It seemed logical to discontinue that packaging and repackage it in a tube. However, it would have made a ton more sense if Revlon told their fans, “Listen, we’re discontinuing the packaging of your beloved foundation but the it’s still readily available in a new tube”. Instead of being upfront about things they decided to merely repackage, rename, and re-market an old formula. Or did they!? That’s the question of the day.

I’ve tried both formulas and although, they share the same name I don’t agree they are the same formula. Which means one of two things. Revlon is either not familiar with their formulas at all and they figure since these two share the same ingredients that means they are in fact the same product. Or they are just telling people that to get them to buy the new product or to shut them up about the discontinuation of a product they loved. Who knows what the master plan these brands have!?

None the less, everyone comparing the two of these at the moment can rightfully say that yes, indeed they share almost identical ingredients but the textures are quite different as well as the coverage and shade options (the two ingredients are compared below within the tabbed box).

Stila Dollish Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Stila Dollish Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Review & Swatches

Stila Dollish Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow ($24) is a rather gorgeous coral pink with gold shimmer that launched a few weeks exclusively at beautylish.com. I quickly snatched this shade up as although they describe it as a sparkling pink even the promo images give it a peachy coral look and I’m all about peach and coral anything.

Granted, I purchased this way before I knew about the peach palette that launched with the Covergirl Peaches & Chocolate Collection. And this weekend I was quite lucky enough to find that palette and Dollish Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow goes so brilliantly with it! Even if you dislike the Glitter & Glow Eyeshadow formula or feel it doesn’t work for you please buy it anyway! It’ll go so great with peachy powder eyeshadows as you can use it as a base of topcoat to add a pretty peachy coral sparkle to your eyes.
