I Shaved Off A Little Piece Of My Brow and the Struggle is Real!

When I was a freshman in high school my senior sister Megan had a birthmark that covered part of eye and upper cheek. It was a purple mark that was quite dark and visible. She was a confident, smart girl and I never once felt like she was bothered by it. I noticed anytime we had a major event she’d use concealer to completely covered the mark. When I first noticed I realized that even thought she was incredibly confident around me that somewhere in the back of her mine that mark made her feel less so. I think we all have something we hate about ourselves. Something we wish we could change, something we can sometimes change thanks to makeup or perhaps thanks to some beauty tool. I think that’s part of the beauty and magic of makeup.

Now, I HATE hate my eyebrows. I HATE them so so much. They are thick and they grow like weeds. If I left them alone I’d be sporting a uni-brow. That’s such a hard thing to type, say, and admit. Thankfully fixing this issue isn’t a problem. I either wax or thread my brows and instantly everything is well again with the world.

I’ve always been envious of girls or guys who have to fill their brows. I’ve never had to uses brow powders or pencils to fill my brows. They are just naturally full (and I hate that!). I never struggled with such an issue and if I had to I wouldn’t even know where to start.

But recently, don’t ask, I shaved a little bit of hair off my brow (mind you I NEVER use a razor on my face but it’s a rather comical story how this happened which I’m too embarrassed to share). It’s not quite at the middle but veering a little towards the right and let me tell you the struggle is real.

Things I Need from Clarins Right Now Thank God for the Discount

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Clarins.com has 15% Off your total using promo code FIFTEEN and thank god for that discount because I absolutely need Mission Perfection Eye Broad Spectrum SPF 15 and new Double Serum everyone keeps raving my ear off about.

Clarins Mission Perfection Eye Broad Spectrum SPF 15 is a color correcting cream that contains acerola which actually acts to brighten darkness over time. The sheer tinted formula brightens the area and acts as a corrector of sort for brown or blue dark circles. It apparently acts to give eyes a perkier appearance if they are prone to looking tired or fatigued. Acerola isn’t something that will provide visible results overnight but it is pretty good about brightening out a complexion with daily use as it’s an ingredient commonly found in many Japanese facial moisturizers and serums. How it does under eyes remains to be seen but I do want to check this one out.

The new Clarins Double Serum is also on my list. It’s being wildly reviewed at the moment across the blogsphere and getting pretty raving reviews. This one promises to firm, even skin tone, and add radiance to dull skin. It contains plant extracts including Turmeric which is apparently an excellent anti-aging ingredient.

I’ve been holding off on purchasing both of these but now I can finally indulge!

Shop now at clarins.com and use promo code FIFTEEN to get 15% off your total!

Laura Geller The Gilded Collection 6 Piece Golden Must-Haves for $49

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Guilty as charged I ordered the Laura Geller The Gilded Collection 6 Piece Golden Must-Haves Collection because I’m so damn weak. To add insult to injury I got the auto-delivery! Head desk! I’m using the, “but it’s so cheap!” excuse.

This one includes full-sizes of:

  • Baked Balance-n-Brighten (Choice of Shades)
  • Baked Blush-n-Brighten in Apricot Berry (golden peach pink)
  • Baked Gelato Swirl Illuminator in Gilded Honey (radiant caramel honey)
  • Kajal Longwear Eyeliner in Gilded Bronze
  • Baked Eyeshadow in Honey Butter/Brodeaux Buzz (warm nude and deep plum brown)
  • Color Luster Lipgloss in Honey Caramel (rosy nude with rose pearl)

It’s such a beautiful selection of Fall shades I couldn’t resist. Sadly, I have way too much Balance-n-Brighten already but I got it in a deeper shade so I can give it to a friend of mine who likes it.

The set is either available as a one time purchase or auto shipment which includes a second and third shipment with the same products in brand new shades for the same price that arrive in January 2018 and May 2018.

Here’s a look at the second shipments.

Colourpop No Filter Concealer Review & Swatches

I finally got my Colourpop No Filter Concealer after a little drama with the shipping. No Filter Concealer is a lightweight, creamy formula that promises to blur imperfections with a crease-proof matte finish. It’s available in quite a wide shade selection and the best part is the budget friendly six buck price tag. Can’t beat that right?

I ordered a few shades the day it launched and about 8 days later I got the wrong items with an invoice addressed to someone else and a label on the box addressed to me. I was headed away for the weekend so I grabbed the invoice as I went out the door, snapped a picture, and sent an e-mail to Colourpop telling them I got a box addressed to me but the items and invoice weren’t mine. They replied that I’d have to take photos of the address label and photos of the contents of the box. For some reason, this got me rather pissed off. It took a while to get the concealer and now I was away with no way to take photos which would mean more wait time for my items. I also didn’t love the fact they needed all this proof to correct their own mistake. Shrug!

I finally got my order a week later but yeah, it put me off Colourpop a bit. I’ve had really good customer service from them up until now. Oh well.

Anyway, I here’s some thoughts, review, and swatches on Colourpop No Filter Concealer!
