Wear MAC Keep It Currant Liquidlast Liner Be Lady Vengeance

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

My obsession with red eyeshadow and eyeliner is brought to you by Geum”ja Lee as played by Lee Young”ae in the Korean film Lady Vengeance. Surely, by now you’ve seen this film and coveted the strong red eyeshadow that’s worn by our anti-heroine. If not, allow me to tell you red eyeshadow is everything because of Lady Vengeance. It’s a shade that I find very, very flattering on Asian eyes and it’s a shade I adore using even though it doesn’t always work out well for me.

My favorite form of red comes in the form of a metallic crimson eyeliner that was available for a limited time in the Majolica Majorca Perfect Automatic Liner formula. Now I don’t love liquid eyeliner by any means but that shade just thrilled me beyond words.

Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer ($52) is a new facial primer that the brand released a few weeks ago which acts to smooth and prep skin for makeup while extending the wear of your foundation.

I purchased this the day it launched which I believe was the first week of February and I’ve used it every single day since to give it a fair testing period. I had hopes it would turn out as well as Mally Poreless Face Defender which I use and love. The formula actually sounds a hell of a lot better than Mally’s formula in some ways as they throw around words silk powder, flawlessness, and protection against free radicals. They make it seem like you’re doing something really good for your skin not to mention they promise this will even out your skin tone and ease dullness.

It’s weird to me to see this promoted on Instagram showing shots of eyeshadow swatches with and without Tatcha The Silk Canvas Protective Primer used. I have no idea how this relates to the product. Sure, the eyeshadow swatches with this used under it look more intense but how does that apply to a product you’re using on your face!? It just seems an irrelevant and unrelated way to promote the product.

None the less, I was intrigued by this and decided to purchase it to try out.

Benefit Gold Rush Blush Brings Warm, Golden Nectar to Our Cheeks

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Much to my excitement Benefit Gold Rush Blush launched today! This is Benefit’s latest addition to their popular Box o’ Powder Collection and it’s a warm, golden nectar according to the brand.

I fell in LOVE with the yummy apricot candy-hue of GALIfornia and I actually had hopes of using Gold Rush on top of it. I hate to say it but I think this might work best as a highlighter and not an actual blush. The description is slightly contrasting in the fact that it says it is a rich, golden shade yet it goes on to read that it is a universally-flattering shade of peach. I can totally do peach but if it is gold that would likely mean it’ll work best as a highlighter for me not as a blush. It does have an overspray which Benefit acknowledges in their detail. That’s a first because oversprays are like a dirty little secret. No one really wants to admit they are there or acknowledge that they disappear after a single swipe. It’s refreshing that Benefit actually says hey, listen, there’s an overspray here and it does disappear!

Yes to Cucumbers Exfoliating Cleaning Balm Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Yes to Cucumbers Exfoliating Cleaning Balm ($10.99) is a new exfoliating cleansing balm that the brand launched for the Spring 2018 which acts to not only cleanse skin but also to gentle exfoliate it as it removes makeup.

As you know, Yes To introduced two new cleansing balms for Spring 2018 one of which I already reviewed was the Yes to Coconut Coconut Oil Cleansing Balm. I’ve always been a rather big fan of cleansing oils or balms and I’m happy to see how readily available they have become in the US market as a majority of my favorites are from Korea.

Yes to Cucumbers Exfoliating Cleaning Balm is a rather unique offering since it acts as a cleanser and a exfoliate which I haven’t personally seen in the cleansing balm world but hey, if St. Ives can give us Facial Oil Scrub why not a exfoliating cleansing balm too?
