Becca Bright Eyes Collection Likely More Gimmick Than Helpful for Tired Eyes

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

The Becca Bright Eyes Collection launched today with the new Anti-Fatigue Under Eye Primer, Under Eye Brightening Setting Powder, and a new shade of Under Eye Brightening Corrector. As you likely already guessed, I jumped on this collection even though I have reservations about some of the items in it. But you know me, anything and everything that promises to make my tired eyes look awake and happy I’m all about trying.

I have tried and reviewed Under Eye Brightening Corrector in the past and I hated it. This has a radiant finish and I felt like it put a big giant spotlight on my puffiness. I actually gave it away after trying it a mere few times. Since that time the person I gave it to raves it to the moon and back. And many, many of you have told me how much you adore it. Today, Becca launched it in a new medium to dark which is recommended of medium to dark skin tones. I actually felt the original shade was quite light for me but I decided to give the medium a try and see if it has more peach to it which could potentially neutralize some of the darkness under my eyes. I’m not expecting to like it in all honesty but I’m still quite curious to see it in person and retry it because maybe I missed something the first time around.

Another item they launched that I have doubts about but I still purchased was the new Becca Under Eye Brightening Setting Powder ($25). Just a few days ago I was discussing how much I liked banana shaded powders when the new Milani Make It Last Setting Powder launched. Why am I having doubts? Because I used Laura Mercier Secret Brightening Under Eye Powder a very long time ago and it was essential a silica powder! Nothing more, nothing less. I’ve learned that I dislike the texture of such a powder under my eyes and I also learned that it creates a white cast no matter how little you use. Yellow or peach works much better for me.

If you look at Becca’s ingredients you will see the first three ingredients are talc, silica, and dimethicone. That means it likely has a slippery, silicone texture. I purchased it anyway because maybe Becca did something groundbreaking with the powder that will make it some sort of holy grail product for me. But I have my doubts in reality rather than give Becca $25 for 0.09 oz of product you can get transparent powder from any number of brands like NYX which contains a huge amount of silica powder for as little as $7 to $8 or less.

Beauty Most Unusual: You Kissed What?!

It’s been a very long, long time since we touched on the Beauty Most Unusual category and today I have the perfect excuse to do a post in this beloved section of my blog but first a little about me.

I don’t drink. I’m not a wine person or a beer one or even a hard liquor one. I’ve been drunk maybe two times in my life one time it was actually unintentional as I didn’t realize the amount I was drinking and it made me quite loopy. Yeah, loopy that’s a good word for what happens when I get drunk. I’m the type of person that does silly stuff like wanting to remove my clothes and run around naked when my wits aren’t about me.

That’s why I could possibly see something like what you see below happening to me if I was drunk. Because I’m a silly drunk and I have this odd feeling something like the below photo would likely happen to me on a dare.

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Sephora Favorite Skincare Kits for Spring 2018 have arrived for dry, combination, and normal skin types today! Each kit has a sampling of goodies to keep your skin looking great all year long!

I always like these kits as they are fairly affordable options that comes with anywhere from 7 to 12 deluxe and sometimes full-size products which allow you to try a variety of different items before indulging in the full-size ones.

And hey, these skincare ones are double the cool as no one wants to spend $50 or more dollars on a moisturizer we end up hating or that does do a darn thing for our skin. Not to mention you might still be in the “New Year, New You” frame of mind and that mind include a resolution to take better care of your skin and what better way to do so which a specially designed kit.

It’s the Holidays All Over Again With Stila Glitter On The Go Liquid Eyeshadow Set

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Stila Glitter On The Go Liquid Eyeshadow Set ($25) takes us back to the Holidays with this new mini trio of Glitter and Glow Liquid Eyeshadows!

Stila released both the Written in the Stars Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow Set and Eye For Elegance Liquid Eye Shadow Sets for Holiday 2017 and honestly, I thought we would see anything else from them in terms of sets like those until next year.

But here we are in Spring and this cutesy little set arrives. This is a nice way to try out the formula if you haven’t already which is brilliant by the very way. Glittery, easy to apply and blend, wears well over powder shadow should you like, and practically perfect in everywhere like Mary Poppins.

These weigh in at 0.07 oz each and the shades you get are Rose Gold Retro, Kitten Karma, and Smoldering Satin (a favorite of mine!).

I don’t need the set sadly as I have all these shades but if you’re starting to collect these or wanting to try them for the first time you can snag this set now at Sephora.com.

Tarte Park Ave Princess Vault Proves That Everything Kits Are a Thing for Spring

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I was just saying yesterday that the Stila Ultimate Spring 2018 Kit might start a stir in the beauty world where brands starting releasing their entire seasonal collection in one kit. We’ve already seen this a little bit over the past year with launches from Tarte and Wet n Wild but I think we might just see more brands start doing this.

I actually don’t scoff at the idea at all because at one point in my makeup life I’d likely be excited that some of my favorite brands were packaging the contents of all their seasonal collection into one money saving set. There have been times, times I’m a little embarrassed about, where I hauled an entire MAC Collection. I imagine if you’re new to makeup, just discovering it, or you’re just a collector that the idea of hauling entire collection is appealing.

I’m actually not at that point in my makeup life anymore. I’m good with one or two pieces from a collection. Plus nowadays there aren’t any real seasonal collections anymore anyway. Typically brands do a major palette release ever other day without releasing any matching lipglosses or other pieces of makeup.

Tarte Park Ave Princess Vault brings together some of Tarte’s latest Spring 2018 launches for $159. This isn’t the first time they’ve done a vault like this as they also released one with the Make Believe in Yourself Collection.
