Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara Dumb Name, Hopefully Good Formula?

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I had a moment there where I blinked my eyes and the year was suddenly 2000, it was Sunday night, and I was laying in bed watching Carrie crush Aiden’s heart. I was always on Team Aiden and the fact Carrie cheated on him and ended up with Big totally made her lose major brownie points with me. I used to literally race home to watch Sex on the City every Sunday night. This was pre-DVR days so, I’d totally cut my weekend short to get in an episode.

Of course, Lancome Monsieur Big Mascara had me having visions of Chris North that floated through my head and perhaps some weird Euro trash porn as well. I mean Monsieur Big? Really? There were no other names in rotation they could have used? I highly recommend we stick this one on the cringe-worthy makeup names list!

YSL Touche Eclat Cushion Compact Foundation for Spring 2017

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

YSL Touche Eclat Cushion Compact Foundation ($48) breaks into our beauty world for Spring 2017 in an assortment of eight shade selections. I question whether anyone is thinking cushion anything is brilliant anymore. I’m still an avid cushion user but the trend seems to have cooled off considerably in our beauty world at the moment hasn’t it? YSL seems two centuries too late with their Touche Eclat Cushion Compact Foundation release but most fans will instantly flock towards it because you put “Touche Eclat” on anything and it guarantees in instant sale.

This one is created with for all skin types and has sheer to medium coverage. It uses the same technique as Touche of Eclat to brighten skin and get it glowing. It’s an anti-fatigue formula so, if you’re skin is dull and tired looking this one with brighten up your complexion and give you that gorgeous dewy glow.

This is where we all sit down and have an internal conversation with ourselves and ask, “Do we really need this?” I know I’m having one right now because I have so many cushions currently in rotation it is borderline obscene. If someone opened my daily staple makeup drawer they’d find a good 20 cushions that I’m currently rotating never mind the rest of the ones I have stashed that I’m not currently using.

Shame.

None the less, as a fan of Touche Eclat I should really try this right? It’s my responsibility as a fan of Touche Eclat to try it right? This is me trying to talk myself into a purchase.

Good luck saying no.

YSL Touche Eclat Cushion Compact Foundation is available at nordstrom.com.

Pur Disappearing Ink Potentially Perfect Concealer for the Invisible Man

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I had thee worst cold last week. I’m was just starting to shake it off and I went out Friday might with some friends, got caught in the very icy cold rain, and ended up feeling worst come Saturday. So, I had a really low key Saturday and did some shopping with friends and a late lunch. After I headed over to my best friend’s house, cracked open the Trader Joe White Cheddar and Bacon Popcorn, and we crawled into bed together to watch Abbott and Costello Meet the Invisible Man which was being presented by Svengoolie (Sven’s the more ridiculous version of Elvira if you never heard of him before). My dad was always the biggest Abbott and Costello and it seems to have rubbed off on me a bit especially when the Universal Monsters get involved (if you haven’t watched Abbott and Costello Meet Frankenstein, you’re pop culture life is missing something major!). Unfortunately, there are only brief references to Claude Rains aka Dr. Jack Griffin in Abbott and Costello’s ridiculous remake.

Which reminds me Pur Disappearing Ink could be a potentially perfect concealer for the Invisible Man! I mean, even if you’re invisible you have to conceal your dark circles right?

Pur’s Disappearing Ink Concealer is a 4-in-1 wonder that promises to brighten up dark circles, blur the appearance of tiredness, and if you have blemishes it’ll tackle those two. It provides sheer to medium foundation that’s as undetectable as the Invisible Man but still manages to conceal pesky problems.

Considering Pur’s track record lately with excellent releases I don’t have a doubt Disappearing Ink’s formula will be a good one.

It’s available in four shades each of which comes in a click pen with a slanted sponge applicator for application. This one is $24, available now at Ulta.com, and of course, it’s Invisible Man approved.
