Kiko Less Is Better Cream Blush Review & Swatches

This was provided to me by a brand for review and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post but all opinions are my own.

The warm weather is coming! Time to haul out your creamy blushes! Kiko Less Is Better Cream Blush ($14) is a perfect pick for dewy, natural, and cute color for the warmer weather ahead. Kiko released these new, limited edition lightweight water-based blushes with the first one of their capsule collections created in collaboration with SuperDuper Handmade Hats. You’ll be seeing several more collaborations in the upcoming seasons and months that will also appear in Vogue Italia.

Their Less is More Collection couldn’t launch at a better time as natural, pretty makeup for Spring is always a perfect pick. Lightweight, more natural makeup is a refreshing change after all the contouring, highlighting, and bold lips we did all Winter long.

It’s weird because people always tell me, “Well, why do you like cream blushes in the warm weather? Shouldn’t you bring them out the Winter when your skin is drier?” I dunno, maybe I’m wrong but I commonly associate the lighter textures of cream blushes with warm weather.

Here’s a some thoughts, swatches, and a review on Kiko Kess is Better Cream Blush.

Beauty Confession: How Many Colourpop Eyeshadows Do You Actually Own?

I think if I go through my makeup and eyeshadow stash and pick out the one brand I have the most eyeshadow from it would be Urban Decay. For a tiny, heart beat of a moment, I thought my Colourpop Super Shock Shadow Collection was bigger but not really. After counting them I actually don’t have that many at all. Maybe the chunkier pots make them look like I have more than I actually do.

I won’t embarrass myself by admitting the sheer number of Urban Decay ones I have but I will tell confess I have 42 Colourpop eyeshadows. I know a lot of people don’t like them but I find myself using them a lot especially the matte eyeshadows. They aren’t dry and they apply like a cream eyeshadow but obviously sans glitter or shimmer. They are great color washes and you can really accentuate eyes with some of the darker shades like Bandit for example! Really, if you hated them for any reason in the past do try them again. They grow on you. I remember thinking some of the sparkly ones were a little too cakey and frosty but a lighter hand makes is key to getting them to look just right. So yeah, kind of rediscovering my love for these lately.

How about you?

How many Colourpop Eyeshadows do you own?

Or tell me what brand you have the biggest collection of eyeshadows from (not counting palettes)!

Yay or Nay: Makeup Setting Mist

Yesterday, I was chatting how makeup setting mist can be a lifesaver when used in conjunction with highlighter. Highlighter can be so damn clingy and it accentuates everything! Dry skin, pores, uneven skin surface, you name it and highlighter can cling horribly. Powder is the same especially for drier skin! Misting yourself after highlighter can refine the finish and you can depowder, smooth, and soften the appearance of it with a little makeup setting mist.

Sure, there’s good and bad things about makeup setting mists.

Do you use them?

Yay or nay for you?

For me….

Benefit Cheek Parade Gets You 5 Full-Size Blushes!

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Want Benefit GALifornia Blush? Want Rockateur too? Benefit Cheek Parade packs in five full-size blushes (and bronzers) in this new, limited edition palette. Best part? You get to try some of their newest offerings like my favorite of the moment GALIfornia plus the new Hoola Lite Bronzer as well.

This launched last week on Sephora.com and instantly sold out before I could blink my eyes. I sadly have all six of these powders in their indivdual sizes so I don’t feel terribly compelled to buy this one but man, that doesn’t stop wanting.

You get:

  • GALifornia (sunny golden pink blush)
  • Hoola (matte natural bronzer)
  • Hoola Lite (matte natural light bronzer)
  • Rockateur (rose gold blush)
  • Dandelion (brightening baby pink blush)
  • Mini Powder Brush
  • Tips & Tricks Guide

It’s $58 but if you purchased each item separately it would set you back $145.

Benefit Cheek Parade is available now for a limited time at sephora.com and at ulta.com.
