Jamie Kern Lima Responds To L’Oreal Purchase of It Cosmetics

It Cosmetics Bye Bye Breakthroughs

As you already know L’Oreal purchased It Cosmetics for 1.5 billion dollars. Jamie Kern Lima responded to the purchase recently on Instagram as well as via mass e-mail for those on the It Cosmetics mailing list.

Here’s her reply:

A special message from IT co-founder Jamie Kern Lima:

Hi IT Girls! I am so excited to announce the news about our new partnership with L’Oreal! At IT Cosmetics, our mission is to make the world more beautiful through our products, through our actions, and through our belief that every woman is beautiful and deserves to feel her most beautiful. This partnership will allow us to utilize the amazingly strong infrastructure at L’Oreal to grow and spread the IT Cosmetics message in an even more powerful way and to get our life-changing products into the hands of even more real women across the globe! I will remain the CEO of IT Cosmetics, and I can assure you that the integrity and quality of our products, our commitment to being completely cruelty-free and our commitment to giving back in a big way will remain 100% intact and true to IT!

Thank YOU for discovering, loving and believing in IT Cosmetics from the very beginning and for being part of our amazing journey of growth so far. And thank you for your continued love and support as we enter into this exciting new chapter in our brand story together.

I love you all, IT Girls! XOXO, Jamie

It Cosmetics will begin selling at Sephora shortly and there’s speculation whether they’ll begin selling globally as well. Jamie will remain the CEO of It Cosmetics even after the sell as per her statement above.

At this point, I have no further information about the sale but I know many of you wanted to know if Jamie were staying on with the brand and as you can see she will indeed still be with the brand. I had little doubt she’d be leaving as the brand is her baby.

I don’t know what this sale means for the brand. It could mean bigger and better things for It Cosmetics. I’ll be waiting patiently to see where things go from here!

Disclosure: I am not affiliated with It Cosmetics or L’Oreal.

Pacifica Kale Water Micellar Makeup Remover Launches

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Pacifica Kale Water Micellar Makeup Remover

Pacifica Kale Water Micellar Makeup Remover ($12) hits the scene today with a formula infused with kale extract and glycolic acid to remove makeup as well as keep skin moist and hydrated after use.

Kale everything lately, including your skincare and makeup. Funny story I attempted to make my own kale chips last month and it turned out crazy bad. I burn boiling water so, I think you can imagine what I did to those poor, poor pieces of kale. Back to Whole Foods to grab up the pre-made ones.

kale everything

But I digress, I’m curious about this new micellar water! I really like Nip + Fab’s new Kale Moisturizer so, if this kale thing is causing all that great moisture I might just be a happy girl about micellar water that’s infused with it.

This one is available now at Ulta.com.

What’s your fav micellar water at the moment?

Too Faced Sketch Marker Swatches and Photos

This was provided to me by a brand for review and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post but all opinions are my own.

Too Faced Sketch Markers

Too Faced Sketch Marker Liquid Art Liner ($20) is kicking it old school with an array of vibrantly colored liquid eyeliners that launched with the Too Faced Fall 2016 Collection. The Sketch Marker formula was inspired by Japanese Calligraphy Pens and acts as a drawing ink to create a smooth, vivid line on your lash line with a waterproof formula that wears long and strong.

Too Faced Sketch Marker Liquid Art Liner

When I was a child and anyone asked me what I wanted to be when I grow up my immediate answer was, “An artist!” Never mind the fact I can’t draw to save my life. I know my dad mentally cringed anytime I told him I wanted to be an artist. I think he pictured me on the streets trying to pawn off stick figures as modern art. I swear I had that dream until I was at least 14 year old. I was determined I’d be an artist. I blame Crayola. Those damn 64 shade boxes of crayons just made everyone want to be an artist. I remember when I was in, mmmm, the 7th grade or so, one of my friends had a 150 gel pens that her aunt had purchased for her. This was like a dream come true for me. I recall going to her house almost everyday to use those pens. Seriously, as a child were you obsessed with pens, crayons, and stationary as much as I was? I hate to say but to this day I’m still obsessed with stationary. This time of the year is my favorite as when the stores start filling up with back to school goodies I’m so shopping those aisles even though I’m no longer in school nor do I have a child. Which is sad because I have no excuse for piling cute pens, crayons, and markers into my cart.

Someone think up some wild excuse quickly!

Actually, I don’t need an excuse because I have a set of Too Faced Sketch Markers now! Those are totally for adults right?

Check out some of my swatches of these gorgeous eyeliners below!
