I’m currently on vacation and enjoying the very warm Summer sun but I can’t help but think by the time we get home we’ll likely see shorter days already and the nights will begin to get cooler. It’ll still be warm well into October because that’s how the weather in New York is lately. When we go apple picking it typically feels like a Summer day rather than a Fall one. But you still get those faint touches of Fall in the air even with the sun out and about. And of course, there’s always the, “What do I wear today?” question that pops up as in the morning it’s a bit chilly but by afternoon the sweater that seemed like a good idea at 5AM isn’t such a great one at 1PM.

I love the Fall but even more so I love the scents of Fall. I love wrapping myself up in beautiful, warm, cozy fragrances that smell like a warm hug from your favorite person in the world. Here are two fragrances that are musts for your Fall Fragrance Collection!

Bath and Body Works Laundry Detergent will be available for Rewards Members starting August 7th. Yes, laundry detergent. I thought it was very interesting to see Bath and Body Works Shampoo and Conditioner popping up a few weeks ago but Bath and Body Works Laundry Detergent? Wow. Ok.

The new Laundry Detergent Collection includes five fragrances that were voted on my Rewards Members. Honestly, I never even noticed they had any polls open for this collection but ok, I’m here for it anyway. The scents include A Thousand Wishes, Lavender Vanilla, Cozy Cashmere, Mahogany Teakwood, Cactus Bloom, Eucalyptus Mint, and Sundried Linen.

I’m not really thrilled with these scents. Maybe I’d consider trying out Cozy Cashmere. That being said, I don’t really like strongly fragranced detergents. I actually use unscented detergent because I feel like the scent sort of clings to clothes and I don’t love the idea of walking around smelling like Tide all day. I feel like it also, interferes with my own perfumes when my clothes are heavily scented with a detergent’s scent. Not to mention this doesn’t seem like a great idea for sensitive users and people with allergies. I don’t personally mind but I imagine it would be a nightmare if you have any sort of breathing issues.

I imagine it sounds off that I’m not thrilled about these considering how much I love perfume and home fragrance and things that smell pretty. But I’m just not convinced I need my laundry to smell like my favorite Bath and Body Works Fragrance. I’m not sure if this is a limited run, a test one (to see how it does before launching more scents), or if they plan on just carrying these few scents in the general catalog. The bottles are 32 oz but not sure on the price perhaps $10-$12 per bottle (But I bet it’s probably $15-$20!).

I love that Bath and Body Works is venturing into new scent categories. It’s just they’re venturing into scent categories I’m not interested in or the ones I am interested in (the hair care) aren’t in scents I’d personally buy. You know, if they had cupcake scented laundry detergent I bet I’d consider buying it.

Bath and Body Works Laundry Detergent will be available August 7th as an app, rewards member exclusive. I’m not sure when these will roll out in stores or online for everyone but will update as more info becomes available.

Live Tinted HUESKIN Serum Concealer ($26) is a new concealer formula launching for Fall 2023 in 20 shades. I heard serum and I was prepared to hit submit. Sounds hydrating! My eye eyes demand moisture! This new formula
provides lightweight yet full coverage that erases dark circles and even helps brightens them over time thanks to Vitamin C and niacinamide. Of course, it also contains a Hyaluronic Acid Complex to smooth, plump, and hydrate the eye area as well as caffeine to depuff. This is definitely a loaded formula as it even includes bakuchiol!

We all know I’m a concealer junkie so, I’m definitely going to try this out. They got me on the serum part but also, Live Tinted has some really nice products that aren’t hyped enough nearly enough! I really like their chubby little corrector and concealer sticks. This is their first real cream concealer though!

Fall’s shaping up to me a good season for concealers! There are least three new ones that have launched so far! I hope we see some more as the cooler weather sets in.

Tom Ford Cafe Rose returns for Fall 2023 but with a new twist according those that tried it. With notes of rose and coffee this fragrance was part of the Tom Ford Private Blend and was introduced in 2012 only to be discontinued a few years later.

This new exotic retelling of an old tale contains elegant notes of rose mixed with rich, dark coffee and just like the original it has seductive notes of frankincense and sandalwood. Fans of the old version feel like the newer version is less musky and has a tiny bit of sweetness.

I heard rumors that they’ll be more discontinued fragrances returning as well as a few Private Blends that will be repackaged as apparently the square bottles aren’t appealing to consumers. I can’t deny the new Café Rose’s bottle is very pretty with dusky and rose gold coloring. It’s an elegant and beautiful bottle.

I actually love smelling like Starbucks. Yeah, I have a lot beautiful coffee gourmands in my collection. However, I never really understood the appeal of Cafe Rose as I never really smelled the coffee in it. I had the same experience with Replica’s Coffee Break! My nose just fails miserably at picking up any coffee notes in fragrances like this. This contains patchouli as well which I’m not bond of it but when done correctly can definitely add warmth and richness to a fragrance. I do remember the old version not quite being my cup of tea but I’d like to see how different it is compared to Cafe Rose 2023.

This isn’t a safe blindbuy for me that’s for sure. Tom Ford’s Cafe Rose 2023 is available now in stores. Did you love the old version? Looking forward to this new one?

Caliray is proving that we’ll be embracing the multi-tasking lip and cheek stain trend into Fall 2023. The new Caliray Socal Superbloom Lip + Cheek Blush Hydrating Soft Stain With Hyaluronic Acid ($28) will be available in four shade selections for Fall 2023. These new long-wearing lip and cheek stains have a clean formula infused with hyaluronic acid, niacinamide, and squalane. They give cheeks and lips a natural flush of color.

• Heat Wave (sheer warmer pink)
• Dawn Patrol (sheer cashew nude)

Caliray is a fairly new brand brought to us by Wende Zomnir, co-founder of Urban Decay. The brand is still very much in its infancy stages but has some interesting makeup picks. Not sure if I need another lip and cheek stain but I gotta admit Laguna Peach and Heat Wave looks like very nice shades. I’d probably be more excited about these if Summer wasn’t ending. They aren’t really a formula I embrace in the cooler weather.
