I Spent $24 on Tarte Tartelette Tubing Mascara Only To Have It Go On Sale

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Hi there! I’m Isabella and I spent $24 on Tarte Tartelette Tubing Mascara only to have it go on sale this month during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty Sale. Oh, woe is freaking me. I happen to be a die-hard fan of Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes. I’ve tried other Tarte mascara but none of them are as good as Lights, Camera, Lashes. This past Summer I had this moment of really relishing new beauty releases. I was really getting into anything and everything makeup the past few months. I dunno where it came from but suddenly I was all, “I wanna buy makeup!” That feeling hasn’t hit me in quite a while so I embraced it and just enjoyed experiencing new makeup or even purchasing a few older items that were on my wish list for a while.

One item I went into a weird frenzy over was Tarte Tartelette Tubing Mascara. It was featured on Tiktok and of course, I feel into the dumbass trap of believing what this person was telling me about it giving her the longest lashes of her life. Sigh. I purchased it for $24 bucks (and of course, it was $12 dollars this week during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty Sale) and eagerly awaited the UPS man to drop it off. I was convinced it would be as amazing as my beloved Lights, Camera, Lashes.

I’m Obsessed With Looking at Pictures of Myself Because of This CC Cream

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
5 stars out of 5

Tarte Shape Tape Cloud CC Cream Broad Spectrum SPF 15 Sunscreen is a new sheer, lightweight CC Cream that launched a few months ago and I am absolutely obsessed with looking at myself in the mirror and in pictures because of it.

So, full disclosure I HATE looking at myself in a mirror and I really hate looking at myself in pictures. All I see are flaws, flaws, and more flaws. I hate my eyebrows, I hate my smirky smile, I hate that uncomfortable feeling of taking a selfie for a review, I hate how awkward I feel when I’m taking pictures by myself or even with friends and family members, and I really just hate posting these pictures on the Internet.

But I do it….! Because this is a makeup blog and I love makeup and I love to wear it and that means I’ll need to take a picture here and there and slap it up on this blog and across social media and I have to make peace with that.

Tarte Shape Tape Cloud CC Cream came into my life and suddenly I’m all, “Damn! I look good in this picture!” I’m dry and dryness means I’m also, a bit dull looking without makeup on. I’m always looking for coverage to even out my skin tone without looking like I’m WEARING foundation because I really don’t need a ton of coverage. My skin is clear (except lately I’ve gotten some weird mask or hormonal acne on my chin! Not cool!) and I’m not prone to blemishes. My eyes are where I need and want the most coverage but my complexion is just fine which means lightweight, sheer coverage is cool for me.

Tarte Shape Tape Cloud CC Cream was released a few months ago and I meant to try it but never did. Fast forward and it went on sale during Ulta’s 21 Days of Beauty Sale and I was like now is a good a time as any to give it a try. You see, I did want to try this but also, I think I waffled on the purchase a bit because Tarte releases SO MANY foundations it feels like it’s the same formula in new packaging. They sort of remind me of NYX with the constant long-wear lipstick releases. It just feels like the same product with different packaging. I think that’s why I was intrigued by Shape Tape Cloud CC Cream but not really running to the store to grab it.

Are Makeup Brands Ripping You Off? Are Drugstore Brands the Same as Luxury?

Dior, Chanel, and other high-end luxury brands don’t want you to know they likely paid $3 bucks to produce that lipstick you just paid $42 for. Ouch! It’s a common fact you’re paying for the brand’s name and the packaging but not so much the actual product inside which is fairly cheap to produce.

I watched a very interesting Tiktok yesterday on how “brands are ripping you off”. I’d link it here but I don’t want the person who made it to think I’m trashing them nor do I want you to think I’m doing so either. The reason I say this is because I actually disagree a bit with what she was saying in her Tiktok! That’s my opinion obviously but I didn’t want it to come across as hey, I know stuff and I disagree because of that. Keep in mind, I know nothing 🙂 I’m just expressing how I feel based on products I’ve tried and just fitting that into what she was saying.
