I Played With the Idea of Buying 5.28 oz Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

I know it has alcohol in it but Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer has a spot on my Ride or Die list. Don’t get me wrong E.L.F. Jelly Pop Primer is up there with Hydro Grip Primer and a hell of a lot cheaper but I def reach for my Milk Makeup Hydro Grip Primer often and I played with the idea of buying a 5.28 bottle of it.

But really now, do I need that much?

Super size me!

Ohhhh! Ok! So, You’re Telling Me E.L.F. Cosmetics Power Grip Primer and E.L.F. Mint Melt Cooling Face Primer Have the Same Ingredients

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

While Milk Makeup is busy introducing Jumbo Sizes of Hydro Grip Primer, E.L.F. Power Grip Primer is making things a little more affordable. E.L.F. Cosmetics recently introduced Power Grip Primer in their Spring 2022 line up and it appears to be here to stay as it doesn’t come in any special packaging. This $10 primer is 1 oz in size and is a gel-based formula that grips makeup for all-day wear.

As you already know one of my all-time favorite primers from E.L.F. is the Jelly Pop Primer which has stuck around since the last time it came back much to my delight. But prior to it returning it was gone for a while and E.L.F.cameout with Mint Melt Cooling Face Primer last Spring. Mint Melt Cooling Face Primer is still around and on clearance at E.L.F. which is odd because they reintroduced it on some level with the Power Grip Primer as the two primers have almost the same exact ingredients.

Mint Melt Cooling Face Primer Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, PEG-150 Distearate, Polysorbate 80, Niacinamide, Sodium Ascorbyl Phosphate, Sodium Hyaluronate, Melissa Officinalis Flower/Leaf/Stem Water, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Water, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Water, Pentylene Glycol, Trideceth-9, Menthol, PEG-240/HDI Copolymer Bis-Decyltetradeceth-20 Ether, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol,Propylene Glycol, 1,2-Hexanediol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Fragrance(Parfum), Disodium EDTA

E.L.F. Power Grip Primer Ingredients:
Water (Aqua), Butylene Glycol, Glycerin, PEG-150 Distearate, Polysorbate 80, Niacinamide, Rosmarinus Officinalis (Rosemary) Leaf Water, Melissa Officinalis Flower/Leaf/Stem Water, Mentha Piperita (Peppermint) Leaf Water, Sodium Hyaluronate, Sodium AscorbylPhosphate, Menthol, Pentylene Glycol, Propylene Glycol, PEG-240/HDI Copolymer Bis-Decyltetradeceth-20 Ether, PEG-40 Hydrogenated Castor Oil, Phenoxyethanol, Ethylhexylglycerin, Caprylyl Glycol, Disodium EDTA, Trideceth-9, 1,2-HexanediolMay Contain:Blue 1 (CI 42090), Yellow 5 (CI 19140)

As you can see both contain a lot of the same ingredients. They aren’t completely identical but the similarities are hella close.

I’m actually glad of it because I noticed Mint Melt Cooling Face Primer was actually pretty good for me (but I do prefer Jelly Pop) and I wouldn’t mind seeing a permanent part of E.L.F.’s Collection. That being said, this is good info to know if you by some chance stocked up on Mint Melt or you have one in your current rotation as why spend $10 bucks more on Power Grip Primer when the formulas are essentially the same anyway.

Consider this your warning to not buy it if you already have some Mint Melt you need to use up!

E.L.F. Power Grip Primer is available now.

This Week In Things Nobody Asked for 2 New Shades of Fenty Gloss Bomb Dip Clip-On Luminizer

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Picture it, March 2021, Fenty Gloss Bomb Dip Clip-On Luminizer launches and it’s completely tone-deaf to COVID fears. Fast forward to Spring 2022 on the horizon and Hot Chocolit and Fu$$y, two new shades of Fenty Gloss Bomb Dip Clip-On Luminizer launch.

Fenty, come, sit down. Let’s chat.

Girl, we had this discussion before. Remember how I told you no one is gonna want to stick their fingers into a big old pot of lip balm during the pandemic. Hell, even when it isn’t a pandemic the whole lip balm in a pot thing has been over since the early 90s. I mean you did listen a little and you aren’t using your marketing about applying it with a few finger taps. Phew! My mysophobic good nature thanks you for that.

I know your excuse (and your rabid fan base’s excuse) will be that you just need to take a little applicator or lip brush with you when you’re on the go. But wouldn’t it be wild and crazy if you gave us one with our $19 purchase. Just a small one, nothing big…. A thought for a redesign next year!

So, yeah, as you can tell I’ve actually outgrown flipping out over little lip balms that come in slide compacts. I’m pretty sure my love of these went out the door many, many years ago. It’s just not a functional or practical product for me particularly during a pandemic. But if it’s your thing the Fenty Gloss Bomb Dip Clip-On Luminizer is now available in two shades. Technically, the shades aren’t new, just new to this formula as they are already offered in the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer.

Shades now available:

  • Hot Chocolit (shimmering rich brown)
  • Fu$$y (shimmering pink)

I’m a lover of the Gloss Bomb Universal Lip Luminizer personally. It’s easy to travel with, has a sponge applicator, and applies flawlessly! So, I don’t really need Fenty Gloss Bomb Dip Clip-On Luminizer which isn’t as travel friendly, will prove to be messy application-wise, and a big old breeding ground for germs.

What do you think of the Fenty Gloss Bomb Dip Clip-On Luminizer? Are you excited for new shades?

In Farmacy I Trust When It Comes to Their New 10% Niacinamide Night Mask

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

If I’m gonna put my trust in a niacinamide product it might as well be the new Farmacy 10% Niacinamide Night Mask. What is niacinamide and why does your skin need it? Maybe we should tackle that before we discuss Farmacy’s new 10% Niacinamide Night Mask.

Niacinamide or vitamin B-3 acts to improve dull, uneven skin while strengthening the skin barrier. It’ll help with redness, give skin a smoother look, helps with finer lines, and it even help with lightening up dark spots.

It can help your skin grow a lipid barrier which allows your skin to retain moisture better. Pretty cool right?

I happen to be a huge fan of Farmacy’s products. I haven’t come across a single one that hasn’t provided visible benefits and this mask will likely be no different. I started testing it out this week and I’ll share my results with you in a month or so.

This is a leave-on overnight mask that contains 10% Niacinamide as well as 3% Panthenol. That act not only to rebuild the skin barrier but also act to smooth and help hydrate the skin to reveal a smoother, hydrated, brighter tone. Niacinamide is one of the top ingredients in the mask which makes for promising results.

The mask is $42 and 1.7 oz available now at Sephora.

Will you try it?
