Wakey wakey my friends.
I hope you had a wonderful weekend and you’re ready to be productive this week. My morning is already swamped with insanity and I haven’t even opened my eyes yet. It’s currently 5AM I already have my phone glued to my ear trying to multitask my way through the insanity of the day.
This should post at around 11 AM and by that time you might well be ready for lunch! I hope the first half of your morning has been a productive one!
The weekend was beautiful here! I couldn’t have asked for a better one. I got to see my dad yesterday for Father’s Day which always seems like a treat since the pandemic lessened visits to my parents so much. But now that we are all vaccinated things its left us feeling a bit safer seeing each other. I hope you had a good day yesterday and you told your dad how much you appreciate him!
As I wrote in my Instagram post…I know some of you might have been dealing with the lost of your dad yesterday but I hope you found some peace and happiness remembering the good times you had with him. My heart is pained thinking of anyone who has to lose a parent or a loved one. It’s not easy and there are no words that will ever make it feel better. I hope you know that I thought of those of you that may have experienced that pain yesterday.
And for all the single moms who act as both a mother and a father Happy belated Father’s Day to you too because you’re out there doing both jobs! And although, I’m not a mom, I imagine that’s a damn difficult job and you deserve all the appreciation and credit in the world for doing both of those very hard jobs!
It’s Monday!
Motivation time.
Stop saying sorry for things out of your control like I do. I mean, I’m the girl that bumps into the file cabinet and proceeds to say, “Oh my god I’m sorry!” or “MY PREMIUM IS TOO HIGH!” and I’m over here, “I’m sorry!” “MY STOCKS ARE GOING DOWN!” and here’s me, “I’m sorry!” I hate being the I’m sorry girl. I don’t mind being a meek mousey but there are times I do wish I was a bit more aggressive in life and one of those ways would be to stop saying sorry for things that I can’t control. So, let’s all make a pact to stop saying sorry! We can do it! I know we can! Let’s put our minds and energy together and make this happen.
Stop dumping on yourself. I do it! I’m an expert at it! It’s gotten me into trouble many times with my boyfriend, friends, and family who hate hearing me being down on myself. Let’s project some confidence it our lives this week. Let’s remember to tell ourselves we’re beautiful, we’re good enough, and we’re awesome. I mean, I’m totally awesome. Have you met me? I’m incredible 😉 See? I’m working on this already!
And remember, be kind to others even all the negative folks! Kill ’em with kindness right? But not necessarily…! Sometimes people are just going through stuff and they lash out at the world. If we can try to peel back that crappy layer they present to the world and serve them up some kindness maybe they’ll pay it forward to someone else. I can be hard sometimes to do this but I try to remind myself that everyone has something going on in life that might be making them miserable.
