Wakey, wakey! Happy Hump Day! It’s a warm, sunny day, I’m awake, I’m healthy, and even if I am a tiny bit tired today I’m still hustling and working hard! It’s National Lipstick Day and Sephora is celebrating with some deals! Why don’t we have National Eyeshadow Day or National Blush Day? I want those Holidays too!

Biggest deal of the day is Becca Ultimate Lipstick Love at $12 each! Ulta has these on sale to but it’s a buy one for $24 and get one free! Basically $12 each but if you only want one shade Sephora’s deal is the better one. I highly recommend snagging a few. These are a fav of mine! Moist, creamy, pigmented, so comfortable to wear! A totally great lippie! Sure, you can’t wear them now because masks….! But save them for the future!

Sephora Favorites Hello! Holy-Grail Greats launched today at sephora.com for $10 bucks. The Sephora Play Box subscription has been discontinued and it�s been replaced with two new non-subscription based boxes. The boxes seem to be arriving every few weeks! There’s also a Luxe Favorites Box they offer which is $25. The Luxe Shelf-Love Collection launched in April but no word if they’ll be another luxury box for July just yet!

I never really liked the original Play! Box so this new way of purchasing boxes is nicer as you know what’s inside and can decide if it is something you want or if it’s a pass. The new thing you’ll find in the Favorites Hello! Box is a 15% off voucher that can be used on any of the full-size items included in the box. That’s a pretty sweet deal.

Killer wasps, COVID, hurricanes, it’s been a hell of a 2020! I’m always 99.9% sure that the zombies are coming next so time to stick up on Philosophy Purity because we all need clean, bright faces when the world ends.

Lipstick Queen was spotted at Walmart this month. Yeah, Lipstick Queen. The brand has gone through some changes but interestingly enough they have remained the same in regards to quality. In 2011, Poppy sold Lipstick Queen to Manzanita Capital but she remained on board for the next several years. Even though she wasn’t running her lipstick empire all herself Poppy still managed to maintain the brand’s image and quality and even after she left the brand still remained very strong formula wise. Let’s be honest here, we all know if larger parent brands like Estee Lauder or L’Oreal become involved in things the quality on products certainly takes a nose dive! Lipstick Queen is one of those rare brands that did successfully come out of a change of hands without changing overly much.

The question remains if that good fortune will last once they hit Walmart shelves. Will the quality remain the same? The formulas the same? Will the pricing be lower? I’ve always considered the brand one that toes the line between mid and higher-range due to the price point. I’m not sure I can see myself walking into Walmart and indulging in $24 Sinner Lipstick. Can you?
