Tarte Love, Trust & Fairy Dust Eye & Cheek Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
3 stars out of 5

Tarte Love, Trust & Fairy Dust Eye & Cheek Palette ($39) is a new eyeshadow and highlighter palette inspired by fairies and flowers. The palette is in the vein of Tarte’s most recent Make Believe in Yourself and Be a Mermaid & Make Waves Eyeshadow Palette but the eyeshadow formula is Tarte’s more traditional formula and not the creamier metallics we seen in those past two palettes.

Don’t get me wrong, there are a few metallics here but the mattes actually dominate. None the less, I purchased it anyway because the shimmery pinks and cranberries were quite appealing not to mention it appeared like a unique and different shade selection from Tarte and not the same old nude, neutral palettes they tend to favor.

I Suspect the Tarte Mermaid Palette Will Be On Sale Very Soon

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

If you’ve been wanting to get your hands on the Tarte Be a Mermaid & Make Waves Eyeshadow Palette I suspect you’ll have your chance to do so soon on sale!

Last year, the Tarte Make Believe in Yourself Palette went on sale at Macy’s on May 26th. We already have a new theme and a new palette for Summer 2018, the Tarte Love, Trust & Fairy Dust Eye & Cheek Palette. Which means, out with the old and in with the new.

I have two predictions for the sale of the Be a Mermaid & Make Waves Eyeshadow Palette one which is we might see it pop up tomorrow during the Sephora Weekly Wows Sale although, I could be wrong considering how sucky that sale has been lately.

My other prediction is the more logical and that is we’ll see it pop on sale during the July 4th events and sales from Macy’s, Ulta, etc…

All this stems from the fact that some of the collection is already on sale like the Minutes to Mermaid Brush Set which is $29.

So, moral of the story. Get those credit cards ready as you should be able to snag this one on sale soon!

Have you been holding on for it?

Covergirl Store to Open in New York City Soon

The most interesting news you might hear all day is the fact that there will be a Covergirl store opening in New York City very soon. Yes, an actual Covergirl store. The brand has plans to open their first ever store in the heart of Manhattan (Times Square).

Drugstore brands are constantly evolving and show great signs of improvement in the ten plus years I’ve been blogging. The prices have increased to compete with mid-range brands, the formulas have improved considerably, and many brands have set out to cut out the middleman by promoting their latest collections on their own websites and across their own social media outlets. Nowadays most brands will launch their latest collections exclusively at one store or they’ll promote it on their site before releasing it at mass retailers and drugstores. Both Milani and Wet n Wild have taken to promoting a lot of their latest launches on their websites. From a business perspective it makes perfect sense because there is no middleman to split costs with. Using these methods the brand is getting more of a return on their launches.

But opening a store? That’s really taking things to a new level. You know exclusives are bound to be afoot.

Guerlain Meteorites Le Parfum Isn’t Quite Like the Original Juice

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
3 stars out of 5

Guerlain Meteorites Le Parfum ($79) is a new fragrance inspired by the brand’s most beloved face powder, those multi-colored delicately violet scented pearls that brighten and highlight our faces.

I think most makeup users would agree that when they close their eyes and think of what makeup smells like the first thing that pops into their head is the smell of powdery violets. Somehow, someway, Guerlain managed to create the iconic and universally known scent of makeup. In 2000, they decided they’d bring the scent of their powder to an actual real life perfume and thus Meteorites Perfume was born. Now, nearly twenty years later collector’s and new fans can enjoy this truly unique fragrance again.

Or will they?

Etude House Trench Coat Showroom Play Color Eye Palette Review & Swatches

4 stars out of 5

Etude House Trench Coat Showroom Play Color Eye Palette is one of three new 15-pan eyeshadow palettes that launched for the Spring/Summer 2018 season which represent warmer and cooler shades. Each palette is priced at 29,500KRW or roughly $27 USD. Etude house doesn’t do a lot of larger palette launches so I took note of these when they started marketing them across Instagram and purchased them as soon as they became available from online sellers.

Since I don’t like ordering from Etude House’s US portal (things always arrive broke and it’s hard to get a replacement) I got mine from my favorite ebay.com seller, F2Plus1 for $23 plus free shipping.

Out of the three palettes launched the Trench Coat Showroom Play Color Eye Palette is the warmest with assortment of warm browns, creams, taupe, and khaki shades in a range of metallic, satin, matte, and shimmer finishes.
