For me the star of this set is the new Foundcealer which is a hybrid 2-in-1 Foundation Concealer formula. I’ve reviewed the product extensively and you can see my thoughts by clicking here but I’ll do a quick recap here. As I mentioned in my review these shades seem to run very light to me so you might want to go with the next shade selection when purchasing. If you’re Fair perhaps go with Light…! Just a thought as I thought the colors were very, very pale from what I’ve seen (I swatches three out of the six shades below for you).
Although promoted as a foundation slash concealer this provides sheer to almost medium coverage so don’t expect it to be super pigmented. For me the name slightly implies that it is full coverage but I find the coverage doesn’t quite meet the medium mark. Nonethe less it’s very creamy with a thicker texture that applies easily on skin and has a smooth, satin finish that doesn’t adhere to drier areas and wears for five hours. I think things can get confusing with the name and the way it’s promoted as being a concealer and a foundation all in one…! It should do a good job concealing more issues such as redness and discolorations but if you have acne or blemishes and require fuller coverage this might not build well for you.

The second star of the set is the Tarte Be Your Own Tarteist Amazonian Clay Eye & Cheek Palette which contains one blush shade and six eyeshadows. I’ve reviewed it in detail and you can see the review by clicking here. The palette has a range of cooler and warmer shades in a range of matte and shimmer finishes. I found the colors were quite pigmented and blended easily onto lids. The blush was a little dense but that seems to be the norm blushes that appear in Tarte palettes lately however, it does blend well on cheeks with a beautiful finish! The palette has a nice versatile range of shades for creating either a day or night look with step by step instructions for “getting the look”.

To go along with your new palette and foundation you’ll get two brushes both of which have sturdy handles and soft bristles. There’s a double ended shadow brush that features an eyeshadow brush on one end and a blending one on the other as a foundation buffing brush which can buff your new Foundcealer out to an airbrushed finish.
You also get new Lipsurgence Liquid Lipshine which I’ve reviewed in detail and you can view by clicking here. I mentioned in my review that apparently the name has changed but the formula is the same as the original Lipsurgence Lipgloss Collection however, this Liquid Lipshine does have a good deal more pigmented than the gloss. But to learn more do see my review.
Finally you also get Gifted Clay Smart Mascara and a makeup bag. I actually prefer Lights, Camera, Lashes (it’s my favorite mascara) but Gifted is just as nice and has a blacker than black formula that thickens lashes and gives excellent length. For me I think Lights, Camera, Lashes curls a little better but the formulas both perform equally well. Plus Lights, Camera, Lashes appears in a lot of Tarte sets so Gifted is a nice change up. This comes in limited edition packaging to match the palette and gloss. The bag is a royal woven and gold purple and is generously sized to pack in a good deal of product. If you decide to grab the set on auto delivery you’ll get a brand new makeup bag which each set.
This is incredible value at $59 and now with the new QVC Shipping Policy it’s even better as you’ll only pay $3 for shipping on it. It’s almost like paying $10 or $11 per item and we all know a single Tarte product is not going to cost as little as that so this is truly a gift. It’s excellent if you haven’t tried the brand before but always wanted to! And for Tarte fans (or Tartelettes as Tarte fondly calls us) this is a must have offering a great selection of products at a small price.
You can get your hands on the set at QVC.com when it debuts tomorrow.
