Colourpop All Nighter Brings Sparkly Taupe Goodness To My Eyes!

I picked up the Colourpop All Nighter Super Shock Shadow Collection ($18) on a whim last month because I was all about the sparkly taupe Vega in this set. I have a mild love affair with sparkly taupes now because Jordana Made to Last Liquid Eyeshadow convinced me that my brown eyes really pop in this shade.

Not to mention hauling four shades of Colourpop Super Shock Shadow is a lot cheaper than getting another shade of the Stila Magnificent Metals Glitter & Glow Liquid Eyeshadow!

Let’s take a peep at the All Nighter Super Shock Shadow Collection!

So, I totally love this set. It includes four full size Colourpop Eyeshadows each of which is 0.07 oz in size. The set includes Smash (satin golden beige), Vega (taupe with gold and violet sparkle), To-a-T (matte warm brown), and Mooning (blackened plum with a violet sheen).

This is a good starter kit if you haven’t yet ventured into the world of Colourpop and a really great pick if you’re already a fan and love a sparkly taupe eye look! I wouldn’t say all these shades match up well into one eye look but the shades can be used in a variety of looks that will compliment each other. For example, Vega all over the eye contrasted with Mooning on the outer corner of the eye looks amazing! To-A-T looks really lovely with Mooning smudged into the upper lash line or even on its own for a natural eye look. You can def get a few lovely looks from this set. I think Vega stands out the most for me though as it isn’t as cakey or frosty looking as some Colourpop shades I own and the color sheers out into a thin, sparkly layer that compliments my big brown eyes beautifully.

If you’ve never tried Colourpop’s formula it’s a lot like MAC Electric Cool Eyeshadows in terms of formula and the chunky pots it comes housed. This formula is a hybrid of sorts that has a clay-like texture that feels squishy but doesn’t retain it’s shape. If you’ve used Maybelline Dream Bouncy Blush this is also similar to the Colourpop Shadow formula texture! Color tends to fade fast on me so primer is necessarily for all day wear. I find application very easy using my finger and the blending is just as simple using my fingers.

I liked this set. It gets you some great shades that you’ll likely get a good deal of millage out of!

If you haven’t tried Colourpop before or you’re just looking to add to your stash of Super Shock Shadows I’d recommend picking this one up!
