Rejoice purple eyeshadow lovers! Meet the Bobbi Brown Ultra-Violet Eyeshadow Palette ($39) is a new, limited edition purple eyeshadow palette that launched at Sephora.com this week!

A little late but this is inspired by the 2018 Pantone Color of the Year and probably one of the few items that were this year. For some reason, Pantone’s Color of the Year just didn’t successfully make it into any makeup trends much to the disappointment of purple fans far and wide.

The palette includes eight eyeshadows in the following shades:

  • White Noise (off-white)
  • Higher Ground (rich heather)
  • Electric Plum (rich metallic blue-purple)
  • Twisted Violet (sparkling lilac with opalescent blue reflections)
  • Black Charcoal (rich blue black)
  • Strange Magic (shimmering violet with blue reflections)
  • Violet Hour (shimmering purple with multicolor reflections)
  • High Fidelity (shimmering dusty mauve)

It’s a refreshing change from the standard round of warmer palettes we’ve seen lately and should be exciting for those who love purple! I’m more interested in the Bobbi Brown Infra-Red Eyeshadow Palette myself!

What do you think? Bobbi disappoints so much lately I tend to be a little hesitant to purchase anything from the brand! But I am tempted by Holiday 2018 and the Camo Collection!

About the Muse

Isabella MuseIsabella is just an average everyday geeky girl who doesn’t blend her eyeshadow correctly, wears too much blush, and hopes she never finds her holy grail products because she likes the thrill of the chase so much. Her mission is to bring you super honest reviews on makeup, skincare, fragrance and all things beauty. She’s in no way an expert on the topic and she sure as hell isn’t a super model. But she’s passionate about makeup and is seeking like-minded individuals that like pina coladas, getting caught in the rain, and ones that enjoy spending hundreds of dollars at Sephora without feeling buyer’s remorse. I wonder, though, if like the Infrared palette, the photo has been manipulated to make it look brighter and more colorful than it is. The Infrared, from real photos I’ve seen, looks brown. Time will tell.

I’m not sure how this swatches, but almost every purple palette I’ve seen has a weird shade that throws the color scheme off. Here it is the second shade from the right on the top row. It looks almost brick here … not at all heathery. I think they feel a warm transition shade is a requirement. I hate that. Otherwise, this looks more promising to me than Bling Boss. I think BB does cool neutrals really well, but I’ve never seen her do actual color.

Wow! Am pretty sure if Bobbi Brown herself was still in charge of the brand she would not release this or the infra red palette!!! They feel more like Huda colours to me but then

I like the packaging and if this makes it way to the UK I may go try the ultra violet in store.
