Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale Sale Sucks More Then Ever Before This Year

The Bath and Body Works Semi-Annual Sale 2020 started yesterday online and I don’t know how they achieved it but they unlocked new levels of suck with this sale. We all know the past several years the sale has been pretty bad. We all yearn for the days when the bins were overflowing with Holiday goodies, candle holders, accessories, and Tutti Dolci. Long gone are those days!. I read a recent rumor on Instagram where someone said the sale wouldn’t even be referred to as a Semi-Annual anymore. That the Semi-Annual would take place once a year, after Christmas, and the June/Summer sale would be just labeled as a “Summer Sale”. Obviously, that wasn’t true as they are still very much promoting it as the Semi-Annual.

Typically, during the Semi-Annual they do bring back old favorite signature scents like Vanilla Bean and the Coconuts everyone adores. However, it’s understandable this didn’t happen this year as COVID-19 likely had their factories on lock down. That being said I thought with stores closed up they would have a lot more clearance available online from Spring. But online the sale is looking rather bleak. Most items are 50% Off at best and nothing lower than that. $12.50 candles? Meh! $7.75 Fragrance Mists? Double meh!

I have seen people lining up outside stores for two hours and many of these stores are well stocked with items marked down 75% . Obviously, the sale is looking a bit better in store than it does online. My own stores are not yet open so, online shopping it is for me. But I didn’t even bother as the sale is disappointing. Honestly, even when my stores do open I have a feeling the selection will be disappointing.

Good news though!

I’m saving money so thanks Bath and Body Works for having another sucky Semi-Annual Sale this year.

Did you purchase anything from the sale?

Do share! I’d love to hear what you got.

Did you go to a store or did you do an order online?

Beauty Confession: That One Time I Poured Facial Mist Into a Plant Mister

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Sit down people. Story time. There was this one time in band camp when I poured an entire bottle of Sana Hadanomy Hydrating Collagen Mist into a Hearth & Hand Plant Mister. I dunno why I thought this was a good thing. And no, it wasn’t because I was going to mist my plants with collagen mist.

It actually worked out really well but don’t tell anyone I said that. We can’t be advertising these weird beauty antics for just anyone to know about.

In the end, I actually had to pour it back into different bottle that actually looked like a facial mist one because one morning when I was half asleep and living dead girl like I picked it up and misted all the plants in the house with it. You see, I wake up everyday at stupid ass o’clock. Typically that’s somewhere between 4:30AM or 5AM and people are always like, “OH MY GAH Why do you wake up so early?” The blog, taking pics for the site, work, living life, etc…! I’m strict on myself and keep a tight schedule but I am NOT A MORNING person. I am a zombie in the morning. If I could rock n roll all night and sleep all day I’d be here for it but sometimes adulting is a necessary evil. So, it should come as no surprise I rolled out of bed, grabbed the mister, and proceeded to go around the house misting all the plants. Typically that’s my routine. I keep the mister on my end table, grab it in the AM, and just sort of wander around and mist them as I wake up.

Only after my workout, my shower, some breakfast, and several hours of work did I blink, sit back, and realize my plants all had a nice jolt of hyaluronic acid. Maybe it wasn’t such a bad thing they’d retain moisture better ha…! In all seriousness, thankfully I didn’t kill every single plant in the house.

I have considered purchasing one of those continuous misting bottles to pour facial mist into because I like misting when I get out of the shower and doing a nice heavy spray! The Tangle Teezer Fine-Mist Spray Bottle looks like a good one!

And hey, at least I can’t mistake it for a plant mister.

Comments are open if you need to confess your stupid beauty mistakes.

P.S. I’ve stored Lush facial masks in my fridge and had a boyfriend who took a bite. He didn’t die, he’s still happily alive and kicking, possibly with a smooth, well hydrated belly lining courtesy Lush.

You Know What Was Missing from My Summer of Beauty World? Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Body Scrub!

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Dude, dude, dude there’s a Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Body Scrub now and I’m kind of excited about this development in the world of body scrubs. I think we we’re all waiting and waiting for the day to come when Sol de Janeiro introduced a perfume. Who didn’t want to smell like the beautiful tropical scent of Bum Bumb Cream? We finally got our wish granted when Sol de Janeiro introduced one a few months ago.

Sol de Janeiro actually been pretty busy cooking up as many products as possible scented like a tropical cake melting in your hand like shampoo and conditioner, perfume, etc…! But you know the strangest thing is that Sol de Janeiro started their collection centered around bath and body items. Body cream, shower gel, etc…! And the one thing you’d thing that would be a standard part of your collection would be a body scrub. But nope, up until now they never had a body scrub.

So, if you’re all about layering I got news for you!

Sol de Janeiro Bum Bum Body Scrub is a thing and available now at Sephora.com.

This is made up of Crushed Cupuaçu Seed, sugar crystals, and coconut oil giving it a creamy sand-like texture. It’s, of course, heavily scented with Sol de Janeiro’s signature fragrance of pistachio and salted caramel.

I did purchase one because my layering game is strong lately. I’ve been all matchy matchy in and out of the shower with my products lately. There’s something rather exciting about being able to use So de Janeiro shower gel, scrub, and cream. Listen, don’t judge me, it’s the little things that make me happy lately in isolation ;D! Self care people self care!

Will you be picking it up?

Do share!

P.S. Who’s still watching City of Angels? Fly Rico is still my cable TV boyfriend because he dresses better than me, he dances better than me, and he’s prettier than me.

Walmart Will Stop Locking Makeup, Beauty, and Multicultural Products Up

News broke last year that Walmart was locking up certain makeup and beauty at some of their stores and unfortunately, this led to a lawsuit. According to the New York Times, in 2019, a woman sued Walmart for racism because her store was locking up African-American personal care products.

The woman, Essie Grundy, purchasing a mere $0.48 comb made her feel humiliated and discriminated against due to the experience of having a store employee having to unlock the case to get the comb. She further stated all products that were “targeted at African Americans” were locked under glass. This included combs, brushes, wave caps, etc.

It’s a little late for this but Walmart has confirmed it will stop putting ‘multicultural’ products in locked cases. In my opinion, it should have never been under a locked case to begin with. Talking about stereotyping a certain race…! Jeez guys.

The lock down only took place in about a dozen stores according to Walmart but many of my readers were quick to point out that their stores had these “precautions” (I use that term very, very loosely) in place. The locked cases drew criticism because it was implied that people of color couldn’t be trusted and really, when you’re specifically taking certain products and putting them under lock and key it speaks pretty loud and clear that you’re targeting a certain group of people.

Walmart spokesman Lorenzo Lopez told NBC News that the company is “sensitive to the issue and understands the concerns” and would be implementing the change in policy “as soon as possible.”

“As a retailer serving millions of customers every day from diverse backgrounds, Walmart does not tolerate discrimination of any kind. Like other retailers, the cases were put in place to deter shoplifters from some products such as electronics, automotive, cosmetics and other personal care products,” Lopez said.

Better late than never Walmart but really, this should have never happened to begin with.
