Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Palette of Pops Luxury Eyeshadow Palette for Holiday 2019

If you wanted a little sparkle in your Pillow Talk you’ll be love the new Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Palette of Pops Luxury Eyeshadow Palette that launched today! Below I’m wearing the original Pillow Talk Luxury Eyeshadow Palette that I reviewed a few months ago. It’s a weird eyeshadow palette because it isn’t a super pigmented eyeshadow palette but it grows on you and you’ll find yourself reaching for it quite often. It’s subtle but brightens eyes, it’s sheer but creates an elegant look, it’s basic but manages to look great for day or night looks!

Now, Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Palette of Pops Luxury Eyeshadow Palette sort of amps up what we already know about the original palette. This new palette contains four sheer-topper eyeshadows inspired by the bestselling Pillow Talk shade. In my opinion, the palette was created to compliment the original palette or other pink and brown palettes you might own as it might prove disappointing if worn along as they are sheer and expected to be used over a powder. I’m fine with that. I think they’ll be lovely to use in conjunction with my current Pillow Talk Eyeshadow Palette!

Shades include:

  • Pillow Talk Prime (soft metallic gold)
  • Pillow Talk Enhance (metallic pink)
  • Pillow Talk Smoke (metallic bronze)
  • Pillow Talk Pop (metallic rose gold)

I already ordered it and will do a review when it arrives.

You can snag your Charlotte Tilbury Pillow Talk Palette of Pops Luxury Eyeshadow Palette now for $53.

Anyone else ordering it?

Pat Mcgrath Blitz Astral Quad Eyeshadow Palette Arrives Today in Two Gorgeous Shade Selections

Iconic Illumination and Nocturnal Nirvana are two new shades available in the Pat Mcgrath Blitz Astral Quad Eyeshadow Palette that launched today. Each palette is $65 and holds four 0.05 oz eyeshadows. I was just playing around with the price a little bit compared to some of Pat Mcgrath’s 10-Pan Eyeshadow Palettes like the new Midnight Sun Eyeshadow Palette that just launched. That palette contains 10 and it holds 0.47 oz of eyeshadow with a price of $125. These smaller quads contain 0.20 oz of eyeshadow at $65. You are getting an additional 6 more shades in the larger palettes for $60 as well as a bit more product for that price. So, these smaller quads are a little expensive compared to splurging on a larger one. EYEdols Eye Shadow singles are 0.038 oz each and $25 so if you purchased four of them that would set you back $100 and you’d get 0.152 oz of product. In that case, the quads become more appealing for that price.

All that being said people will likely feel more inclined to spend $65 on a luxury eyeshadow palette versus $125. Plus sometimes people enjoy a smaller palette and feel less overwhelmed by the shade choices. I know sometimes I like to just grab a quad versus a palette contain 10 plus shades.

The standout choice from the Pat Mcgrath Blitz Astral Quad Eyeshadow Palettes will likely be Nocturnal Nirvana not only because it has a festive Winter princess vibe but also because the shades are a bit different and unique compared to shades available in larger Pat palettes!

Shades include:

  • Incandescent Gold 003 (glittering golden sparkle)
  • Blitz Aquamarine (glistening blue green)
  • VR Emerald (sparkling emerald duo chrome)
  • Blitz Purple (vivid purple sheen)

The safer of the two palettes would be Iconic Illumination. It’s also a palette that contains shades that are a bit like what we’ve seen in past larger palettes.

Shades include:

  • Astral Gold Allure (glittering platinum gold)
  • Blitz Bordeaux (sparkling deep burgundy)
  • Blitz Brown (rich chocolate brown)
  • Bronze Gold 003 (glistening golden bronze)

Both are gorgeous to say the least. I might just be picking up one or both!

Pat Mcgrath Blitz Astral Quad Eyeshadow Palettes are available now.

It Cosmetics Love is the Foundation Brush Review (2019)

This was provided to me by a brand for review and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post but all opinions are my own.
5 stars out of 5

It Cosmetics Love is the Foundation Brush ($30) is a new, limited edition Love Beauty Fully It Brushes for Ulta makeup brush that launches every year around this time of the year to support the Look Good Feel Better Program.

The Look Good Feel Better Program helps women face appearance related side effects resulting from cancer and helps them regain their confidence. The program teaches beauty techniques to woman with cancer and includes lessons on skin and nail care, cosmetics, wigs and turbans, accessories and styling, helping people with cancer to regain confidence in their appearance. For every single It Cosmetics Love Is the Foundation Brush purchase the brand will donate a brush to the Look Good Feel Better Program. I think this is amazing. Some people might beg to differ and expect a dollar donation to be made but I think a small brush like this can go a very long way at making someone feel beautiful that really doesn’t at the moment and to me that’s a priceless gift.

It Cosmetics has been creating this brush for a number of years and it’s a brush I always enjoy featuring. I’ve purchased the brush in the past and I’ve been gifted some from It Cosmetics as well (this one is a sample but I’ve already purchased another to support the program).

The brush gets a revamp every year with this year’s been a very new version which may or may not be for the better depending how you see it but more on that later. As always it has a pink handle that a pretty see through heart pattern.

Huda Beauty Makeup Remover Balm Too Small, Too Limited Edition, Too Wonderful

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.
5 stars out of 5

I’ll start my review of the new Huda Beauty Makeup Remover Balm by saying it’s too small, too limited edition, and too damn wonderful. This stuff is magic! Why is available for a limited time and why is it so damn small though?

Huda Beauty Makeup Remover Balm is a new cleansing balm that launched this past weekend for $12 in a mini 0.71 oz size. Ok, let’s break this down for a second into drugstore cleansing balm sizes and prices!

The recently released Ponds Cleansing Balm is $9.99 cents (sometimes cheaper in some drugstores) and is 3.38 oz. Another recent release to the drugstore world is Physicians Formula The Perfect Matcha 3-in-1 Melting Cleansing Balm which is smaller than Pond’s and more expensive at 1.4 oz for $12.99. Also priced at the $12 range is Ulta Cleansing Balm which is 3 oz in size. I’m just throwing out there some fairly decent formulas that can be purchased at the drugstore which are bigger and priced along the same line.

The price is pretty high for such a small amount. Even taking it into the mid-range world the price is higher as if Huda should be some chance introduce in a larger size I’d say she’d go with around 3 to 3.8 oz size which seems to be the norm for many major brands. Say if she did do a 3 oz size would should use the $12 as a starting cost per oz or would it be under an oz at 0.71 oz? If it was under we’d be paying close to $48 for under 3 oz of cleansing balm. Compared to brands like Clinique Take The Day Off Cleansing Balm which is $30 for 3.8 oz and It Cosmetics Bye Bye Makeup Cleansing Balm at the same price for 2.82 oz things could become quite expensive quite quickly. I popped a single eyeshadow on top of the jar below just for size reference.

I’m just speculating the price point at a larger size because at this point we have no idea if Huda Beauty Makeup Remover Balm will ever be available at a full-size. We can only hope it will be. I do wonder why they launched it as a limited edition product and at such a small size. It’s actually really sad they did this because I love it. It’s fabulous! And it’s grossly overpriced and I won’t be able to get it after it’s gone according to the brand.

Are they testing the market to see if they want to introduce it as a permanent product in Huda’s permanent collection? Who knows! I just know right now I’m sad it’s so damn small.
