Dior Rouge Blush Midnight Wish Timeless and Not Cheap

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

Dior Rouge Blush Midnight Wish ($45) is starting to trickle onto makeup counters and at retailers like Sephora and I think it will likely sell out fast because it’s such a timeless piece. It also happens to prove that higher-end brands haven’t given in to the soft market and endless release and sale culture we are currently seeing from mid-range brands (well, that is if you don’t count Marc Jacobs Beauty which seems to have a knack for going on sale lately).

Not to be confused with the blush but still sporting the formula as Rouge Blush, Midnight Wish is actually a luminous shade of glow that will produce a fine golden shimmer on cheeks.

I am terribly addicted to collecting Dior’s Holiday Highlighters! I think my collection goes back at least 12 years so, of course, I’m weak enough to purchase Midnight Wish and add it to my makeup vault of “Pretty highlighters I like to look at but never use”!

I know for a fact this one was up on higher-end department store sites earlier and has now disappeared so if you do want it you probably shouldn’t wait.

Dior Rouge Blush Midnight Wish Timeless is available now!

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 4 for Holiday 2018

I receive a small commission if you shop through my link.

If the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Unlocked Palette didn’t quote grab you maybe the Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 4 will which just launched for Holiday 2018 at Sephora.com. I felt like Edit Unlocked looked WAY too much like Ambient Lighting Palettes I already own as I expressed in a prior post last week. And hey, I’m honest if nothing else so, I might as well say I’m not sure about Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 4 either but in its defense I will say I do see some variation here versus that prior palette launch!

This one contains six Ambient Lighting Powders in the following shades: Dim Light (neutral peach beige), Diffused Light (soft pale yellow), Euphoric Strobe Light (pearlescent beige), Filtered Bronze Light (subtle warm bronze), Luminous Glow (bright coral), Euphoric Fusion (soft lilac).

Hourglass Ambient Lighting Edit Volume 4 for Holiday 2018 is available now. The question would be do we need it?

It’s Only October and I’m Bored with Holiday Makeup But There’s the Pyramid Scheme

Uh oh! It’s only October and I’m already sort of bored with the Holiday Makeup Collections. Please don’t throw tomatoes at me!

One of the stand out collections this year that did surprise thus far is Too Faced Holiday 2018! The Tickled Peach Eyeshadow Palette was really, really good and so far in my testing, I am liking Gingerbread Spice as well! It’s about time that someone took notice that Holiday Collections and quality haven’t gone hand and hand for years now. It’s nice that Too Faced made some effort to improve the formula on their latest release.

However, so far, everything else has been a bit meh. Don’t get me wrong there’s a gift set here and there that I’m liking but nothing magical has really jumped out at me yet and I do feel like we are fairly deep into Holiday. That means there has to be something that I want right? Not so much!

I tend to liken the Holiday Makeup Collections to a Pyramid Scheme. Don’t laugh, it’s true, think about it.

Holiday starts trickling in around the end of August and by the second week of September we are pretty much knee deep into it and by the end of September almost 99% of all brands have launched. Obviously makeup junkies start buying at this point but there are a select few that are reserved about their purchases. Baiting their time, waiting on a sale but many makeup users are spontaneous and still experiencing FOMO. Remember, not everyone in the makeup world has been around the block as much as you have so FOMO plays an important role in a new makeup users world as well as a brand’s world as they are hopefully to capture the new audience’s attention and money.

It almost feels like they get money from the initial collections to pay for the prior collection and create more collections to get more money to pay for the last collection and so on and so fourth. Totally a pyramid but one wonders, are they making money or will Tarte end up at Target next year if you get my meaning!
