Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer Review & Swatches

I think it’s about time to review Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer since today it officially launched and all the ravings are in and of course, I have to weight in on this formula for myself as I’m the self-proclaimed queen of all concealers.
Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer is a full-coverage, don’t take that claim lately, it’s very full coverage, weightless, hydrating formula that acts to conceal, contour, and highlight that’s available in 20 shades which promises a 12 hour wear. I haven’t personally tried the new Tarte Double Duty Beauty Shape Tape Foundation but I am a massive fan of the Tarte Shape Tape Concealer (and considering the ingredients are almost exactly the same I never felt inclined to give the foundation a try) and most reviews I’ve read are comparing the Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer to Tarte’s formula. It’s understandable as they do sound and look quite alike however, Too Faced is $29 for .05 oz where as Tarte is $39 for 1.01 oz but the chubby barrel packaging, oversized applicator, and full coverage promises are pretty much identical to each other. However, where as Tarte offers a matte and hydrating version of their coverage Too Faced only offers a hydrating formula.
At the risk of sounding terribly old I have to admit that Too Faced Born This Way Super Coverage Multi-Use Sculpting Concealer does come across as Instagram makeup to me. I mean, ok, there are a good deal of high-coverage foundations around but after watching reviews of people slathering this stuff on their face under really bright lighting I was pretty much horrified and thinking, “Ok, this is Instagram makeup!”
I’ve literally watched people apply this directly to their face with the applicator and in my experience with the product you really can’t do that.
Let’s jump ahead and see some swatches and more of my review.
