Covergirl Peacock Flare Mascara Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Covergirl Peacock Flare Mascara is an early Spring 2018 mascara launch that’s arriving in drugstores now and promises to thicken lashes and give them that flared out fluttery look. I purchase Covergirl Mascaras strictly for review on my blog because in reality I’d probably be quite happy to never have to purchase one again as long as I live. Covergirl Mascara is a very hit or miss situation for most people. You either really, really love everything they do in the mascara or you really, really don’t get it. I’m in the “I don’t get it” group. A majority of their mascara formulas simply don’t work for me for some reason. I think you have to have really long, really full lashes to see the benefits from their formula. I count myself somewhere in the middle of having good lashes, not sparse but also not super full and naturally long either. So, the results I have with many Covergirl Mascara is mediocre at best.

Sadly, Peacock Flare Mascara is a miss which comes as no great surprise.

Juliette Has a Gun Sunny Side Up Review

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

I blind purchased Juliette Has a Gun Sunny Side Up Perfume during the Sephora 20% Off Rouge Event because it just sounded fun. I mean how can you not like a fragrance that’s named Sunny Side Up right?

Some part of me was scared going into this purchase. Worried that maybe this would be a Lemon Pledge fragrance as sunny for me equals lemon or citrus notes. It contains neither actually! It’s a warm, slightly spicy gourmand that wears very, very close to my skin.

Here’s why I both love and hate it.

Cargo x Star Wars The Light Side Eyeshadow Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Cargo x Star Wars The Light Side Eyeshadow Palette ($28) is one of two, limited edition eight pan eyeshadow palettes that launched to celebrate the release of Star Wars The Last Jedi. Star Wars is my religion I’ve been geeking out to it since as far back as I can remember so when I heard about this launch I was very excited. I have to express disappointment in Cargo’s PR Team though as when they sent me information on the release I asked them for a sample of the eyeshadow palette and was told it was selling out crazy fast and samples were limited. I totally understood at the time and I purchased it from Kohl’s directly instead. I had plans on buying the entire collection as a fan anyway but I wanted samples as I felt they’d arrive faster versus me purchasing the items from Kohl’s website.

I was pretty sad to see the collection hasn’t sold out, it’s readily available, and I’m sure a single eyeshadow palette sample would have been easy enough to send to me for review considering nothing sold out. Yet another case of irritating makeup FOMO. None the less, I am just happy I was able to get my purchase in without it selling out fast even though I had to wait a little longer to review it for you because shipping from Kohl’s takes a while longer than it would from a public relations team directly.

Here’s the deets!

L’Oreal Pure Sugar Purify & Unclog Face Scrub Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

L’Oreal Pure Sugar Purify & Unclog Face Scrub is a new pure sugar and kiwi face and lip scrub that launched along with a few new face scrubs for Spring 2018 at drugstores. As you know, L’Oreal introduced a selection of mud masks last Summer that gained quite a social following when the multimasking trend hit the skincare world. I tried a few of them such as the LOreal Pure-Clay Mask Exfoliate and Refine Pores and LOreal Pure-Clay Mask Detox & Brighten Treatment Mask. They were nice enough but I did experience some drying from some of the formulas and the fragrance plus ingredients weren’t quite right for my skin type. These new scrubs are a re-take on those formulas but where as before you left them on and rinsed them off these new formulas work more as an exfoliating treatment.

I had some skepticism about a face slash lip scrub formula in all honesty plus I had some worry about drying out my skin as physically exfoliating my face sometimes results in even drier skin than when I started out but of course, my curiosity won out and I decided to purchase L’Oreal Pure Sugar Purify & Unclog Face Scrub.

Tarte Foil Finger Paints Shadow Palette Review & Swatches

I purchased this item and I receive a small commission if you shop using the links in this post.

Tarte Foil Finger Paints Shadow Palette ($39) is a new Spring 2018 palette featuring soft, creamy selection of metallic eyeshadows. It’s probably a little too early to say this since brands are just starting to push their Spring 2018 Collections but this is turning into one of my favorite eyeshadow palettes of the season.

Tarte did an outstanding job with this formula and I have hopes they are testing the market with this palette and have plans to either do a larger palette with the formula or a selection of individual eyeshadows shades. As you know I’m not terribly into metallic or foiled eyeshadows because they tend to be frost on these but Tarte somehow created a formula that compliments eyes beautifully well and adds a gorgeous pop of shimmer and color to lids that looks dramatic, bold, and fancy.
