I Went Into Target For Toilet Paper and Came Out with $200 Worth of Stuff

target splurge

Ah Target! A vortex of evil. Be honest, have you ever walked into Target for something like say toilet paper and came out with $200 worth of stuff or am I alone in careless spending? Or have you ever walked in and you told yourself, “Ok, gotta grab this and that and I’m out the door in two minutes”. And suddenly, two minutes to turns into 2 hours.

First off, you walk in and those dollar bins are right in your face. So, suddenly you feel this need to scavenge through them and before you know it you have ten bucks worth of really cute post it notes in your cart along with cutesy little bins that you’re sure will be great for makeup storage.

Next, comes the purses and accessories. As soon as I turn the corner from the dollar bin the purses are right there. And you know what, Target has some damn cute iPhone cases and wallets too. And always there’s some collaboration going on with Jason Wu, Lilly Pulitzer, or some other designer so, suddenly shopping Target is all about haute couture. In goes two purses, a few wallets, and some iPhone cases into your shopping cart.

Update: Too Faced Fall 2016 launches today at toofaced.com.

Jerrod Blandino, Too Faced’s co-founder, is one of the makeup and beauty accounts I recently recommended you follow on Instagram. He’s already leaking Too Faced Fall 2016 info so there you go, reason enough for a follow right? 🙂

As you know already, Korean makeup and beauty are trending hard in the US. I have hope it isn’t a passing trend but a lasting one like contouring and highlighting which doesn’t want to go away like evers.

I mention this because it feels like the Too Faced Fall 2016 actually has a kawaii vibe going on which is more Japanese than Korean so, perhaps, we’ll see some Japanese influence for Fall 2016. Kawaii or cute is not only a marketing tool in Japan but also a prominent part of the culture. It’s something that has infiltrated every aspect of Japanese culture including clothes, food, even signs on the street. I do think in regards to makeup and beauty, Korea does have a more cuter aspect to some of their brands but the kawaii culture itself brings to mind my love of Japan.

Some of that trickles into the new Too Faced Totally Cute Palette and Too Faced Sketch Marker Liquid Art Eyeliners releasing in June as an early Fall 2016 launch.

Take a look!

There May or May Not be Volcanic Water in These Cleansing Wipes

This was provided to me by a brand for review but all opinions expressed are my own

Beauty 360 Sooth with Volcanic Water Facial Cleansing Clothes

Volcanic anything in your skin care is a good thing. For example, if you haven’t tried MAC Volcanic Ash Exfoliator you’re so missing out! Read my review, I’ll convince you.

But I digress, let’s talk cleansing wipes! CVS Beauty 360 has their own cleansing wipes that contain volcanic water. I watch a little too many BBC documentaries because I have visions of an exploding volcano and some Sean O’Connell type being lowered down into the heart of that volcano to collect water!??? I dunno…I let my imagination run away with itself sometimes.

Technically, Volcanic Water has a ton of minerals beneficial to your skin.

Whether or not Beauty 360 Sooth with Volcanic Water Facial Cleansing Clothes actually have volcanic water in them might be debatable.

So, I nitpick apart every single mascara I have ever tried. I rave very few if you notice but one I continuously go back to again and again and again is Tarte Light, Camera, Lashes Mascara. Until something better comes along, Tarte Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara earns the title of HG (holy grail) around these parts.

I get great length from this, fabulous volume, and it doesn’t flake or smear plus it removes easily at the end the night!

Tarte doubled down for Summer and created Lights, Camera, Lashes Mascara in a limited-edition double-sided packaging which includes a Bottoms Up Lash Mascara!
